• James Spann in your pocket!

  Being someone who hasn't lived in the ABC 3340 viewing area in some years I was so happy to find this app. I trust James Spann and the team to warn us of severe and non threatening storm systems as they move though Alabama. This is great for those of us slightly out of the viewer range, ie Dekalb County. ** The new update is amazing, and finally fits my iphone 5's screen. Thanks ABC 33/40!!**

• Map overlays

  It's a great app and it has the most current info for Tuscaloosa/Birmingham, but you need to have an adjustment so you can see the map underneath. The precipitation overlay covers roads and cities. If you get that fixed you'd have a 5-Star app!

  Great features like storm tracks to show you direction of storm and a future animated radar to show you a futuristic outlook where and what time a storm may approach your location. Also gives warnings and watches and videos. Best of all features the world famous Mr. James Spann! If he can't predict it no one can!

  Bring the old map back, and fix the bug about not knowing and storing my current location it always defaults to river chase , if those are fixed best app EVER!!!

• Telling me Unable to Find Location

  I love this app and 33/40! But since the last update, the app keeps telling me it cannot find my current location and is taking a long time to load. I hope this gets fixed soon. I use this app a lot!

• New map colors

  Love the app & would have given 5 stars, however, since the last update the standard green rain clouds blend in almost completely with the green of the map. Not sure if it was the ABC 33/40 update or iPhone update that messed it up... Still love the app & ABC 33/40 weather team though!

  Love the app. I had it on my droid it worked great. Now on my iPhone the location doesn't work right. I put in my city removed riverchase and use the current location a lot but it keeps goin to riverchase although it's not listed and doesn't refresh to current location. Please fix

• 10 day map

  The 10 day map does not load correctly. You are not able to see each day anymore only the last day of the 10 days work. Please fix.

  This is a must! My only issues are that is has issues connecting during severe weather and it's been ceasing frequently. Other than that, this app is a must!

• iPhone 5 support please

  Hasn't been updated to support iPhone 5 yet, even after almost a year of being out. Blog also doesn't update. Please fix, spann is the best.

  Blog hasn't worked in quite some time. It just spins infinitely and never loads. What's up with that?? I really enjoy reading those. Even the new update hasn't corrected this issue.

• Radar map useless

  The radar map has become useless once precipitation starts. The colors are so opaque you cannot see the actual map underneath, and so cannot tell where your location is. Please fix this! Thanks.

  I, too, keep getting the network error. This is on the iPhone 5. Used to work perfectly. Can't rate because I can't get past error.

  When it comes to broadcast weather, ABC 33/40 is unquestionably the best in our area, so when I downloaded this app I was expecting the same standard of excellence, not the WSI stock app being used by the joke that passes for a meteorologist at WBRC! To add insult to injury, WBRC does a better job of keeping their video forecast up to date. The 33/40 weather team consistently out performs everyone else in the market, including NWS. I want their forecast via the web, not WSI's. How hard could it be to routinely post the video forecasts and the radar map that includes watch highlights, warning polygons, and lightning strikes that you already prepare for 33.2? Finally, and perhaps most important you need to add a live stream here anytime you interrupt normal programming for a weather emergency. I wouldn't expect this much from anyone else, but I expect nothing less from ABC 33/40.

• An absolute must

  I downloaded this app yesterday, jan 22 2011 when we had some tornado watches in our area. Who knew i would meed it that night! a few hours later the tornado sirens went off. I turned the tv on and saw a confirmed tornado was on the ground and headed my way, downtown birmingham. Then the cable went out. My boyfriend and I headed to the basement and relied on this app to track the storm. When we were down in the basement this app was the only way we knew what was going on. It was constantly updated and it gave us comfort to know what was going on and when it was safe to leave the basement. This app is an absolute must have!!

  Great app. Very easy to use. Everything you need in a weather app. Im able to use current location or check on where I live or even check the weather/storms where my parents are to make sure they stay safe. Highly recommend.

  The most complete all around free weather app. This is a news station based out of the south and I believe it to be as accurate as my local forecast here in New England. I like the way it stays up to date. Good Job!

  Seems it can not connect during severe weather. I always get a cannot connect to network/make sure airplane mode is off.

  But it doesn't. It works perfectly until the weather gets bad and you really need information. Then it "can't connect to the network".

  SO much better than the national weather app I had before. During the last storm I was frantically trying to find a live stream radar to view on my phone while we were in our underground basement. I was so glad to hear James Spann say something about the app during the most recent storm. I downloaded it immediately! The regular ABC 33/40 app has a great traffic map showing slow-ups and accident locations so I got it as well!

  This is a superb app for extreme weather. I can get a live TV broadcast of James on my Iphone from any wireless hotspot when my satellite TV is blocked by the rain or I'm not near a radio. This is a real service to us all. Thank you!

  I thought that the app would be great since it was ABC 33/40. Wrong. App is way too slow to load. Times out and closes at times. Even using wifi. Weather underground or accuweater iPhone formatted websites or webapps are still your best bet.
