  Very helpful app in communicating to large groups of people, on different platforms. Sometimes the notifications are spotty, but usually it's pretty solid. I like that the admin can add users to the group but won't keep sending messages to anyone if they don't reply. It keeps the app from being annoying. Great app, all in all.

• Good app but major flaw

  This is a great app for messaging across multiple mobile platforms but I have come across one major issue. I changed my phone number and now the new owner of my old number is getting the messages! Within the app there is no way to change your phone number. Without access to a regular computer it is not possible to change your number for this app! I will probably have to create a new account and lose all my messages and groups.

  I wish that when a notification popped up on my lock screen instead of saying GroupMe it said the name of the chat it was from and then the persons name Everything else is great!

  Can't download more pictures when I get to the end and it says "load more." I know that there are more pictures we shared in our GroupMe and I cannot view them anymore. Disappointing.

  Works perfectly for my needs. Its great to be able to turn off notifications for a group. Only thing I would add is for the ability to lock the groupchat so no one else can join and the option to permanently ban someone from the group by majority vote.

  I like this app but I want to get notifications to the lock screen without my phone vibrating or making a sound, it does that way too often with this app and the only option is to turn off all notifications but I don't like that because I'll miss too many messages.

  Warning. This is not a group text app it is a group chat app. All group members will receive all reponses of group members. Used it for a large group and members received up to 130 reponses. Total nightmare.

  I have used this app for a while now and used to never give me problems. Ever since the last update, however, my contacts are not getting updated and the only way to add someone to my group is through links phone numbers or emails. Cant just add someone that is already a friend on groupme. Seems like it gets worse each update. Update before last it caused the app to crash a lot. Now i cant add friends! About to find new app!!

  The app no longer allows you to receive update through SMS messaging alone. This becomes an issue because you either have to 1) reset it every 48 hours; or 2) make sure that your data plan is turned on or on wifi to receive messages. The app would be great, but because of this has become completely unreliable.

  Great app overall. I appreciate the texting features primarily. However, it would be nice to do more things with our group besides text. We find that our group is constantly planning around eachothers schedule. It would be really nice to be able to create a shared schedule with the group.

  It's a glitchy, but overall, it's a fantastic app for the 6 guys I ride with to post nonsense our wives don't want to hear, plan rides and brag about the new gear we purchase for our machines. Good fun!

  Love this app because it makes reaching my whole club easier, but I'm struggling to get some people to join, leaving them uninformed of important information. The messages I try to send them to rejoin once they've timed out, don't send, and the link doesn't always link them correctly. Please help! Maybe it has something to do with the stability of large groups? Not sure.

• Battery Hog!

  Installed this app as required by my employer but I just had to uninstall it as it continuously polls for messages in the background EVEN with the background app refresh on settings is disabled. Good app but the message polling is crazy of often and you will end up ruining your phone's battery life!

  It's not a bad messaging system just annoying for instance it takes me like 8 tries just to open the app, I don't get notifications when I should just when it feels like I should and also at times it just randomly closes... At first I thought it was just my iPhone but my friend who is in my group who has a Samsung has the same problems as me, and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling still theses issues persist, hope u can fix because its a really cool app.

• Buggy & Slow

  Great concept, but continues to be slow, uses a lot of data, and often unable to login online. Will continue to use this, but considering and testing other group apps in the interim. Doesn't seem to work on wifi, only really works on mobile data network (3G is what I have). Many high percentage of fellow users are having difficulties with GroupMe. Tech support very cordial and responsive, but no working solution arrived at.

  Recently my place of employment decided this was better to use than a fb group for messages about shifts, shows, events, etc. Quite frankly, this app doesn't cut it. Once you get a message, if you miss it, it doesn't care. It doesn't annoy you relentlessly the way, say, a fb anything would. With big red alerts and numbers in red on your screen until you read whatever it was. This should be like that. It doesn't do that. I've missed some important correspondence do to this app's gentle approach to reminding it's users something has been posted. Get it together y'all.

  Good app. Love the ability to communicate with my groups. BUT, the app itself crashes almost every time I click it when I hadn't been on it in maybe an hour. I'll have to try 2-5 times before it opens. Even when it does open, it takes a LONG 15-20 seconds before any text shows up. It didn't used to be this hard to use the app.

  I can't even open this app :( I tap it on the menu to launch the app and then it shows the white blank screen with the tabs and stuff of the app. It stays like that for like 10 seconds and then finally crashes. I have to keep repeating this like 15 to 20 times until it finally does open up. Honestly, it's not worth dealing with this. You'd be better off finding some other instant messaging apps instead.

  The app's interface is a lot more convenient than a traditional group text. However, it crashes (sometimes wont even start, taking five or more openings to do so) frequently on my 3GS. Also, there is no way to edit existing contacts within the app, other than deleting them from the conversation and adding a new edited contact.

  Haven't been able to use it for over a week due to constant crashes, and when it does work it runs slow as sin on my iPhone 4 (ios7). Other than those glaring faults, it's a very useful app in coordinating with groups from school or work.

  Ok, good app. However, I had ok internet, but the messages wouldn't send. So now they're stuck there asking me if I want to resend. Along with that I can't delete any messages without deleting the whole conversation.

  When I first downloaded GroupMe, it only crashed every other time I opened it. As if this wasn't bad enough, for the last week the app will not even open at all and just crashes when you even try. This version is completely broken and needs an update immediately

  This is a great app my friends and I use it for game play with a lot of other apps to coordinate a game plan for our battle weekends one feature we'd love to see added is the option to either block someone from rejoining the group/s or have an option for the creator so he/she could lock the group so no one can rejoin unless the group is unlocked

  I use this app to talk amongst my peers who work in sales. It works ok but I wish it wasn't so buggy when I tried to copy and past text. Also, where is the option to edit your post? An absolute must in my opinion.

  Totally helpful for keeping teammates, friends, and family in the loop for parties, gatherings, holidays or last minute plans. Love the fact that everyone can chip in on the cost in one easy place even from miles away. Just one concern is that the app in not always open when you first click on it, I noticed it to be more of a problem after the update was installed and have read thru other reviews and many others feel the same. Frustrating that it takes clicking on the app multiple times before it responds. Thanks for your concern in this matter.

  Helpful tool for game chatting but has a few hiccups. The biggest one being that if you haven't been on in a few it has a problem loading up. Or if there is more than 100 messages the app will close multiple times before it figures out what it's doing. Besides that I like the picture ability.

• Good but could be even better

  I think this app is great and I've been using it since it's first started an the changes it's made since then are remarkable. However, I feel there are some places the developer can improve on. First off, the app frequently crashes upon opening and takes a few minutes to actually open up. Secondly, the app gives the ability for users to kick out other group members on this own, however the administrator(creator) of the group cannot be touched. The developers should consider changing this feature to allow all members to be removed or make it so that no members can be removed unless on their own will. A follow up feature that the developers may want to consider are making it so that the group does not need to be disbanded when the creator leaves. These are the only major downs I have with this app. There are some additions however that I think will be well applauded by users and rather that will gain the app popularity. For example, the addition of a poll and the ability for any group member to poll a question for the rest of the group. Another good feature that would tie into your connections with Skype would be live video chats. These are just some things to look into for the future. Overall though, I think this is a great app and I look forward to the progress it'll make in the future.
