• I love this app!

  I love this app. Although more complex equations are better suited for other programs, I use this app constantly for really quick one-step calculations that I would normally scribble down in the margins or the corners of the page. This app is awesome because it enables you to make simple rapid calculations that you would normally jot down on a napkin or in the margin somewhere, right on your ipad. It's the format that makes it choice-- you can quickly and very accurately (no matter how bad your writing is, this app recognizes your writing perfectly) get results in seconds on a virtual whiteboard.

  When I first downloaded this app for school, it became such a common use for my math and equations homework. It makes equation writing a snap, and is great at recognizing the numbers and symbols I write. I would definitely recommend this app to anyone who needed to solve quick, easy equations for all math things related. Keep up the good work!

  Some people are giving this one star because it wont do their homework for them. This app is AMAZING, so ignore those people. You can type in something and it accepts horrible handwriting like mine. If you do something like 2=5, it will have a side note saying to subtract 3 from 5. This app is great; definite download.

  My school is using this for calculations as most scientific calculators are expensive and it does do they job. However, long problems do require pauses and the calculator immediately begins to interpret the symbols which brings disruption in my work. Nevertheless, if the creators listen to the reviews and fix these problems, I am sure that the app will bring in more users.

  I am a application analyst for a software company. My job is to analyze reported issues by users and then determine if it is a software issue or a user generated issue. I use this app for comparing index file sizes, data values whether accounting inventory counts etc, and so forth and so on. When doing the math I am able to save the calculations used into my notes. Then later if I suspect an error I can go back, review my notes and the math calculations performed to make sure I didn't have entry problem. Bottom line, you will love it no matter what use it for.

  This app is VERY helpful. I use it with my math work and the numbers are accurate. Not to mention my sloppy handwriting is easily recognized. If you need something to help you in class I recommend this app, as I'm currently in Geometry and use this app every day.

  This app is bad for those like me with bad handwriting. It struggles to correctly understand what I am writing. Also big handwriting like mine makes it difficult to fit everything into one line. I recommend a normal calculator for those people like me.

  App can't read a lot of stuff and when I want it to be smaller it always takes up too much of the screen. Also when I try and delete part by swiping over it it always makes wired lines or dots and I have to start all over.

  Overall, it's a good app. Once you have everything written, it works great. However, it's a little tough to get the app to recognize decimal points. It had a good edit function to the problem though.

  I can't even do simple subtraction because it reads the minus sign as a division, and moves things wherever it thinks they should go, not deciphering what I've actually written. most frustrating piece of math I've ever come across.

  This app is not only useful but it's fun! I don't have to hunt for function buttons. More than that my 4th grader saw it and started doing math of his own accord! One down side is you tend to run out of room on longer equations. Overall this is very very cool!

  It's good in the fact that it can be very useful for certain things but you NEED to add an ALGEBRA FUNCTION when ever I try to put X in it thinks that I'm trying to multiply. Please fix this!!!!

  A rocket scientist might be limited by this app but this thing has genuine wow factor for the average Joe. --So much more fluid and efficient than any key-tapping device.   Great app. My kids 9 and 13 both like to use it. They like that they can see the whole problem with the solution. They try to guess the answer before it appears. It is also amazing for complex equations. Lots of fun to use.

  Well I am giving this a four stars rather than five stars for two reasons, first, it does not have sec(), csc(), and cot(). Second, it still has the iOS 6 look and feel. This app is otherwise great but those two features would make it perfect!

  This is a great app for when you need to see the number in front of you, instead of them disappearing after totaling them up on a calculator. For instance, on a regular calculator, if you are entering measurements to help you center something (like a bed) on a wall, then first you'd enter the feet x 12 to get the measurement in inches. Then you'd subtract the width of the bed, and then divide by 2, which will give the the distance between the corner of the wall and the ends of the bed. So, say we are working with a 10' wall. And say the bed is 40" wide. So it would be 10x12=120 then 120-40=80 then 80/2=40. This is where the corners of the bed will be along the wall. But let's say you misleads urea the bed, and it's really 60" wide since the calculator now only shows your last total, you have to start all over. Which isn't a huge deal, but this app changes that. But you first need to know how math and the order of operations work. First you'd start with writing 10x12 and if you pause, it will give your your length in inches, 120. Then, where the app out in the equal sign, you can write over that with - 40 and it will give you a new total. Here's where it gets tricky. In order to find where the edges of the bed will be, you have to divide by 2. But if you just put /2 in there, your answer will come out wrong because of the order of operations. Writing 10x12-40/2 will be calculated as (10x12) - (40/2). So you have to write in your own parenthesis, like this (10x12-40)/2 and the answer is 40. This is a great little app, especially if you need to rework things several times, and make changes to the numbers without having to start all over. However, if you try to do a second calculation on the same screen as the first, then it thinks you are working with fractions, and puts the top numbers on top and the bottom numbers on the bottom of the fractions. It would be really nice if this could handle at least two or three separate calculations, so as not to end up with really long complicated number sentences. **Any typos are victims of auto correct, and because the review text box goes below the keyboard scree on the ipad, so after a certain amount, I can't see what I'm typing.**

  It's a smart idea and really unique, but if you need to use algebra I would not suggest it, because when ever you do a x it things it's a multiplication sign, and any letter you try to use, it uses it as something else, and it's irritating. I like it but, I need to solve alegabra problems. Please let people be able to do alegabra problems on it!

  This is something I thought would be cool since I first saw the ipad introduced years ago. It's great that it is really here, kind of makes me wish I was still in HS math just for the cool factor. As great as the concept is, other commenters make some valid points... A lot of us need much more than 3 decimals, and it seems appears the decimals are truncated rather than rounded. If we could get some functional notation incorporated as well, say, to input f(x)=(3x-1)^2-4 | x=2 or if we could put underneath f(2)= and have it then calculate that point, this app would be truly epic. If this app is only meant to replace the basic algebraic calculators, then it has done so very well from the 2 or 3 minutes I've played around with it. That said, I see far more potential for this app than just that basic utility, and hope the developers go to that level.

• Correct Way to Use This App

  Ok. To solve -1^2, you type it in like this. (-1)^2. To solve for 2x+10=20, write it like this. 2( )+10=20. It will then place a 5 in the parenthesis. So x=5.

• Needs to be more precise

  The strokes need to be more precise. Whenever I try to delete something, it will usually make a fraction, subtract, or make the number a negative number. It also has trouble with mixed fractions.

  I try to plug in the equation (1+0.045/12)^180 and it goes +? next to it like I'm supposed to add something else. Clearly it's an easy equation that can be solved without adding anything else and it a EXTRMELY annoying how it doesn't just solve it. 1 star, fix this!

  I'm currently a Freshman in high school, and I've been using this app for about 2 years now. It's the greatest thing ever! It allows you to write out your whole equation, unlike a regular calculator, where you can only do pieces at a time. Plus, the fact the app uses NO ADVERTISEMENTS, is a blessing. I would recommend this to anyone with an iOS device that is in school.

  This is a terrible app. I need to use it with variables and it doesn't recognize them and changes them to numbers. It's very slow. It also changes my sevens to ones and vise versa. It's a great idea but needs much work. Do not get this app!

  Our teacher allowed us to use calculators on our test and I used My Script and I got a bad score. I took the test again and it showed that by doing it without a calculator I had actually done better than before. My Script is wrong and inaccurate for most algebra, but it can be helpful for quick math. Thank you , Waller

  myscript calculator can only multiply certain amount of numbers and its inconvenient to my class because we have used that app a couple of times on a test or quiz so you have to fix that.

  I don't normally write reviews but this app is amazing. I teach calculus in a high school and let my students leave their answers as are thematic expressions. This tool lets me quickly calculate with out having to worry about using parentheses. I have shown this app to many of my fellow teacher friends and they love it as we'll. Really a phenomenal app for anyone who does long parentheses heavy calculations.

  This is a fun app to use, but it can be kind of distracting if you have a giant math packet due the next day and you're so stressed that you go and fool around on myscript calculator. Otherwise I find it very easy to use and it even does trig stuff. Overall you should get this app (Otherwise I wouldn't be wasting my time writing a review if I thought it wasn't worth while).
