for multitasking desk job tasks, its the best!!!!!!!

  • Very versatile app

    by richgros

Use it to transfer many types of files to iPad.

  • A Top Ten App

    by Vereth01

If you could only have 10 apps on your iPad, GoodReader has to be one of them. It handles a lot of file types; has good file management capability; and great interaction with your home server and cloud services. If you edit documents, get it.

  • Goodreader is very good.

    by Mhmhy

I recommend it to every body. Thanks..

  • "Good" Reader

    by Sanbonmatsu

Excellent reader, but I prefer the pages be viewed continually.

  • One of the best!

    by Eng.user

I use GoodReader often and have found it easy to use and reliable. It is one of the best apps out there.

  • Great program for journal article research

    by elegantdragon

I use this program a lot and like it. I wish there were more light colors for the highlighter since the red and blue are too dark to use. I tend to highlight different sections for different reasons and more colors would help. Also, the eraser doesn't really work. You can't erase saved marks, so the eraser is the same thing as undo. Still, I like the program a lot and would love it with those upgrades.

  • Most important app on my iPad

    by sleeplessny

As a PhD student, I need to be able to access all documents, all the time, and from every source. I wouldn't be able to function without this app. Couldn't recommended it highly enough.

  • One of my most used apps

    by RobWBj

Powerful. Functional. Versatile. The PDF marking tools are easy to use and quick. I like to read documents in PDF because I can so efficiently mark and take notes on them with Good Reader. Great filing and organizing abilities, too.

  • Irritated

    by Arcticfox_001

I wrote an extensive review, giving it a 4, but when I tried to submit the review it said my user name was taken and erased the whole review. I'm not wasting my time writing another. Here's the scoop - nice program, like it better than adobe, but they need to figure out how to handle digital magazines with rich text and graphics. Many of these I can not even open without crashing the app. Others just don't display properly. Work fine in adobe.

  • Works good

    by A320virgin

Works good. Wish it had a tutorial about the different functions. I'm sure I'm missing out on a lot of functionality but otherwise nice app.

  • Great app

    by 2sigma

Very nice PDF reader with great tools for annotation. One of the most-used apps on my iPad.

  • Best file manager

    by Mrasj

With the recent update, GoodReader has returned to being my favorite file manager. The problems I was having with GoodReader prior to the recent update prompted me to take the time to try other file managers and compare them with GoodReader. So it is now with some confidence backed by experience that I can make the claim that GoodReader is the best file manager when you consider all the quality features it provides all in one app.

  • Lots of goodies

    by SteveK1953

Nice program for organizing your PDF files, packed with more features than I will ever use..

  • The nightmare is over

    by namenicked

    Finally fixed.

  • Pretty much the best...

    by mmm...art

GoodReader is my go-to app for PDFs. It is and has been stable over the course of many releases and updates and hasn't let me down yet. It renders FAST. Even on my 1st gen ipad it was speedy. On this new fancy ipad it's a joy. Dropbox integration works great and forms the basis of how I use it. If I had one wish, it'd be to have it do for epubs what it does for PDFs: display them flawlessly.

  • Most useful

    by RdJo

Best app for file management and viewing.

  • Very useful App - Need Backup

    by patchdad

This app is very useful for viewing and utilizing all files but especially PDFs. Great for presentations and emailing files to clients. Would like to see a backup function to protect files lost or deleted in error.

  • From better to best

    by Peter T Fwu

I have used good reader for more than four years. I was attracted by its convenient file manager when the first time I installed it. Next it started to provided the tab interface that supports opening multiple documents. Now finally, it totally changed its old not so good looking layout to the one very fascinating today. There is no perfect app that fulfills every need, but I believe behind this app there is a perfect team keeping pursuing this.

  • It's the reason I use an iPad!

    by Kkkffflll

I have been using good reader for almost 4 years now. Sine then I've used 3 iPads. The 1st, 3rd, and now the 5th generation. I have to say GoodReader provides THE best PDF reading experience across all platforms. More importantly, guys behind goodReader have been continuously working on improving things. It surprised me with the recent facelift. I love it! I want to thank GoodReader team to make such a beautiful app. It's the reason that I use my iPad.

  • Crashes constantly

    by mistermidi

Wish I could say I am having the same experience as those who have written the 5-star reviews. A year ago, I would have. Now it crashes all the time. I'm sorry I paid for this app and I'm looking for a new one. Huge disappointment!

  • Terrible UI

    by YetAnotherReviewer42

The new UI is terrible. Specifically, if you sync multiple remote folders independently, it is now almost impossible to select one and sync it. Tiny horizontal-scrolling list of remote folders with even tinier sync button make the new UI terrible.

  • What happened?

    by InvaderJ

GoodReader has served me well for many years. It’s always been fast for me (I use it exclusively for image management - not PDFs). The latest version however? I don’t know what happened. It now takes 3-8 seconds to browse into a folder (no correlation with how many items are in the folder), 3-5 seconds to open images (avg 280k per), and - get this - 13 to 15 FULL SECONDS to go BACK to the file list from viewing an image. All of this used to be nearly instantaneous. I am browsing and viewing the same files I did in previous versions where this was NOT an issue. Terrible, terrible update.

  • BEST PDF reader app & great developer!

    by OctopusToe

Their customer service listens and responds. This is definitely the best PDF reader out there. Please add syncing with Google Drive folders!

  • Be Careful

    by Radioman909

Be very careful if you purchase this app not to update it. Once you have loaded all your PDF files and organized them into folder's you may have trouble as I did with an update. Once the update was done I cannot manage my files anymore. The app will not allow me to highlight any folders or files to delete them or move them around. I have dozens of folders with hundreds of PDF files that are almost worthless to me now and cannot seem to get the help of the people who wrote the app! I have used the app since 2010 with no trouble until there new update came along now I am out of luck! BEWARE of the app

  • Good update but no support for CYMK

    by Mohamedov

I like this update and i hope the coming update support CYMK pdf files

  • Must HAVE App -- Going on 4 years!

    by RDriessen

Thank you for releasing version 3.20 just in time for my late-January project deadline. Great Job! The new interface looks terrific and the GoodReader for iPad app is better than ever! I've been using GoodReader since the iPad was released 4 years ago -- when Keynote did not support hyperlinks. (Go, figure!) GoodReader for iPad has enabled my work to be on the "cusp" – developing and designing custom, dynamic Interactive Sales and Presentation Tools for my growing client list. Thank you, GoodiWare, you make my work look, feel, be...beautifully...interactive!

  • Search Problem with iOS 5.1.1

    by Chugiak76

The search box on my iPad running iOS 5.1.1 is less than one character wide. The search still works, but I’m unable to see what I’ve typed in the search box. Feedback sent to Goodreader developers. Otherwise a great application. If I could change one aspect of the app, it would be how searches are displayed… I’d like to see them more in line with how Preview displays search results, so you can quickly see the results in their proper context (so you don’t have to click through several dozen searches to find the proper term on the proper page)

  • Works good for Dropbox and Box

    by vincewenqingsun

It is a good software for modifying pdf in cloud. It support sync to ur Dropbox and Box cloud. But so far cannot sync from google cloud, you have to download it to ur iPad first then modify it, then upload again.

  • Can't import picture!!

    by Mttz

    Fix it plz!

  • Still the best

    by newbeco

I have owned the Goodreader app for years, and the developers' response to user requests is second to none. Thanks, keep it up!

  • Recent update ruined this once-great app

    by Kazzantra

Recent update makes sliding between pages of PDF files a painful thing. I have to wait for at least 3 seconds to see the app finish rendering a page. And the new UI buttons are too small to be accurately click on.

  • Still loving it

    by DJ JazzyS

1/26/14 It's been over two years since my last update. I can say out of ALL the iOS7 app updates that have rolled out from other vendors, this is THE BEST of anything I have yet to see. Instead of just trying to change the "look" of things, you guys did a wonderful overhaul of things that makes it much easier for me to manage all of my documents at once. I still love the fact that I can link to as many dropbox accounts as I'd like without having to log in and out of the other one. Even dropbox's app doesn't allow you this functionality. It's critical for me because I usually don't have time to track down the login information from the other accounts I must access on a regular basis. With this update, I have already noticed the improved processing of the PDF files. The previous update (maybe 2 before the last) resulted in my PDF files taking a minute to appear whenever I would go to the next page. This problem has disappeared. I love the ability to COLOR CODE my starred files. With my working on my dissertation, it makes it easier for me to track journal articles within specific categories now. What's still on my wish list? Nothing at the moment! I had to update this because you guys have made it easier to delete annotated portions of text. I am SOOOOO happy!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! No more worries about trying to tap just right to get my delete option - WHEW! No matter what, it is still the MOST IMPORTANT app on my iPad. It is the first app I tell every new and old iPad owner they need to have. Once more, hats off to this awesome development team for always bringing us a product that is constantly improving when you think it cannot be improved further!!! ----------------------------------------------- I've been using this app now for about 9 months, it is the only productivity app I would say is a must have. Outside of my daily use of Accordance and WSJ, I use no other program more frequently. Right now, my wish item is a sibling app for my iPhone to further my personal needs. 1/25/12 - I have the iPhone app, so all things are great. I think one of the greatest pluses with this app is the ability to open it up in so many other applications I have installed on my iPad and iPhone - this amazing level of portability is not found in any other application I've come across thus far. I still have two requests - 1) with the editing/annotating I would prefer that when I select to highlight information I would have the option to change the color then instead of having to tap forever in just the right way to get it to let me make the change. If this could a settings value to change color immediately or afterwards, I would love it. I use this app daily for note taking. 2) I wish it supported form fill for PDFs.

  • best I have found

    by Chupafuego

I have tried a few of these apps for reading scientific journals. It does a reasonably good job of annotating as I read. I can open and save to Dropbox and print with my notes. I have switched to others, but found this one to be the most natural to use.

  • Nice update; Broken global Search

    by Jamesmerize

Cannot global search within PDF files any longer. Will update review if receive response from staff regarding broken feature. App can only search PDF titles- worthless for locating specific text for work! Otherwise, Nice update for user interface and speed. Stable.

  • Best PDF Reader

    by dmk11

The only one to use! Easy to transfer files to, nice controls.

  • Very useful

    by rsnemmen

Best PDF reader out there. End of story. I use the "sync with Dropbox" feature all the time. And now, fully compatible with ios 7.

  • The reason to have an iPad for business

    by DrCLN

This has been a critical app for me and the reason to buy an iPad for business use. This allows me to keep all the documents I need, marked and annotated, at my fingertips.

  • Unresponsive Developer Ruining App!

    by Appjunkie!!

I cannot trust the developer anymore. The app was useless for FOUR months when iOS7 was released. I want a consistently stable app to depend on. We all should abandon this app.

  • The update fixed a lot of issues.

    by Philbert81

The last update fixed a lot of bugs this app had. However I don't like the new look, I think IOS7 is ugly and apps need to stop looking like it.

  • Bad annotation index

    by Goodreader hater

The main reason why I paid for this app is because I wanted to be able to highlight PDF files and go back and view the list of the highlights that I made. But the index that shows up is in some sort of weird code. And that's if it even shows up at all. Sometimes a blank space shows up and the only way that I know what it is if I tap it and view it in the actual PDF file (There's no preview). Until this is fixed, this app is just junk taking up space in my iPad.

  • Don't be fooled!

    by tapper browser

Think about it: this app was completely broken for four months! Do you really want to put your trust into a company that might shut down their product for a third of a year, without any indication of when the situation would be remedied? Have a little foresight and stay away! Also, the icon and the screenshots are extremely ugly, but GoodReader has always been "designed" by people without any taste, so that's kind of me given.

  • The speed demon is back!!

    by Benbq

Review update: I've run into a small bug when annotating. If I zoom all the way in to take notes using the freehand tool, the viewpoint shifts to the bottom corner of the page. Please fix, as I like to make small annotations in margins using the .5 pen width, and this bug makes that tough. That being said, this is still the best app in the store. Nice clean new interface. Not too many changes for us long time users. Thanks! My only gripe so far is that the "return to reading" button is very obscure (i'll get used to it). This is more than made up for by the awesome new 'recently read' section which launches the reader.

  • Pedal support, please

    by Elderberry Dudes

Excellent app for reading docs. Supports PDF links. Sync and download features seem more confusing to me than they ought to be, but I'll figure these out with more use. A key missing feature for me is support for keyboards or pedals to turn the page (e.g. PageFlip Cicada). This would make it immensely more useful for music purposes.

  • Hello Again, Hello

    by StarRider77

The latest update brings this great PDF reader/annotation app back to being one of my most used and appreciated apps. I can now again highly recommend this reader to all my family and friends.

  • Excellent for reading 300+ pg 8.5x11 books on ipad

    by Tikkinen

Bought several readers a couple years ago for storing & reading 300-900 page 'user manuals' in PDF form, and this one was best for me. Was getting worried that it was falling behind, as had quite a few artifacts and issues since iOS 7, but this update cleared them for me.

  • Pretty good

    by hb_chang

The reader is awesome! Good markers and writing functions! If it can support hand-writing lecture notes, that will be better.

  • Great update!

    by Taxburdett

Thanks for fixing the problems with iOS 7. Works great now.

  • PLEASE

    by J_Stryker

PLEASE bring back the preview! Okay?

  • Not a fan of the new UI

    by justinwr

Great all around file browser and storage app but the new UI is far off the mark of many of the latest iOS 7 inspired styles. Besides the nitpicking it's still worth the purchase.

  • Awesome.

    by Taso g.

Seriously, this app is the stuff dreams are made out of. It's a little confusing at first but once you get used to it, it's amazingly powerful in very useful ways. Word of warning though: the icon is hideous.

  • Crashed and engine rendering is slow

    by Rimarle

Rendering is very slow on large files, and since iOS updates, crashes frequently on opening large and small files alike. Large files were always problem, making good reader very buggy and crash prone, but since update it's extended to even small files. Costs to crash reports are sent, but no one ever contacts the user. Poor quality and poor service!

  • The best

    by AmandaMoran

I'm in sales & this lets me keep all my manufacturers catalogs (PDFs) in my ipad, I no longer use the 8 foot shelf of paper catalogs at my desk. Update with iOS 7: I waited to update my review, this app is still not handling like it used to. Lots of crashing, lots of gray pages. Never used to have this issue! Please fix it! 12-2-2013 New update: Sometime last week I think there was an update for this app. It now works as week as it originally did plus they added new features I haven't explored yet. Changing my rating back up to a 5. Thank you for taking care of me.

  • Great App!

    by srl73

GoodReader is my most-used app. It provides an easy way to carry my most-needed documents - generally Word documents & simple Excel spreadsheets - with me all the time. I copy important files and/or folders from my Mac to GoodReader and easily keep them in sync. Documents can’t be edited using GoodReader, but if you edit them on your Mac, it only takes a couple quick steps to sync the updated files with GoodReader. When I’m away from my Mac, I can view documents without worrying about whether or not there is an available internet connection. I’ve also been extremely pleased with GoodReader’s tech support. The company is very responsive to questions/concerns about the app and has always worked with me via email until any issues are resolved. Generally, my issues aren’t due to a problem with GoodReader, they tend to be because I’m doing something incorrectly. Without a doubt, my most useful app!

  • iOS 7 compatible, but still room for improvement

    by James Turner

Great to see GoodReader back in action — iOS 7 compatibility is much appreciated. This is the best PDF reader I’ve used for marking up student papers. A few ways the app could be improved going forward: 1) better DropBox integration that syncs files individually and automatically as they are changed; 2) better multitouch integration to allow swipe between pages with two fingers while annotating with one finger; 3) allow us to set a left margin for annotations — often, I’m annotating on the side of a document and when I go to the next line, the zoom box goes all the way to the left side of the document, not immediately below where I was writing — wish I had control over this.

  • Great Job on the update

    by sundevilgrad

Long time Goodreader user but was losing faith with slow rendering and consistent blank screens after the iOS7 update. I was about to jump over to another PDF reader. I read an update was coming so I stayed with Goodreader hoping for the best. Happy to say I stayed with the app. I use large-sized PDFs and other doc formats from Windows to Mac, every day. The app I recommended to everyone is back to functioning as before. (restoring the Preview function would be cool in a future update. I used that a lot and miss it.)

  • Finally, my favorite app works in ios 7.

by Fix it for IOS 7!!

I have PDF bliss once again. Thank you.

  • Great redesign

    by randomor

Finally not disgusting to look at. But the icon?!!! The only thing that keeps the app feels like ios1. What were you thinking? Kudos for not charging us again for an iOS 7 redesign like so many others did. Looking at you reeder. :)

  • Recent update is great!

    by LunaCat

GoodReader is back to being the best PDF reader for iPad. For the past two years, I have used it daily for organizing and notating articles, books, and my own writings (all PDFs) for my dissertation. It is invaluable and turns the iPad into an indispensable tool. The recent update addresses bugs and now GoodReader is back to being one of the most used apps on my iPad.

  • The icon needed to be changed.

    by KidWillBo

Please change the icon so that it can match iOS 7.

  • Amazing

    by Katbombow

Good reader has my text books and class notes all in one place. It's great that I don't need to spend so much money printing things and can just take my notes on the screen:)

  • GREAT and WORTH THE WAIT

    by Zanadue

GoodReader is the best annotation app on the market. Now that it's iOs7 compatible it is stupendous. We had to wait quite a while for the update but it was truly worth it!

  • Thanks alot for the update. Looks great

    by Anyopalyo

Program looks like its running smooth and stable. This update changed alot of things. Looks solid. I will use it during my studies and rate it better once I think its been working perfectly. For now thanks for helping us out and updating all of those things. Working fast and efficient for now. No crashes yet.

  • Perfected after recent update.

    by Inspiray

I had huge issue with this app before the recent update. Whenever it was reading a image based PDF files it crashed all the time. (I own an ipad with retina display) But after the update it does not crash anymore, and overall the app became quicker too. Strongly recommend to any ipad readers out there.

  • The developer makes this app to complex to use

    by xiaoyaoth

The developer assumes user uses the app In a cautious way. There are So many popped-up alerts asking for confirmations, etc. Even putting a highlight or drawing a line requires "save" on the upper right corner. Can you make the operation simpler please? It is too annoyed to do confirmation for every single operation. Can you learn from the Notability please?

  • No Grey Pages!!

    by ryetheguy

This has been a long awaited update, but I’m so glad it’s finally here. I’ve purchased many other PDF annotating apps, but non have compared to what this used to be. Great to to see that GoodReader is back on top!

  • Simply Useful and Beautiful

    by Shufei

I didn't think they could make Goodreader more elegant, but the latest update did. The file management has been streamlined, options clarified across the board. Most apps jump the shark at some point. But Goodreader has only gotten more useful and outright needful. iPad would be a dumb box without it. This is the one app I would truly despair of being without. Much thanks to the creators and their hard work over the years.

  • Love It!

    by Taral Patel

    Much faster... Thank you!

  • Yay!

    by jodimeadows

I'm so glad the update finally came. Goodreader is BACK! And I can enthusiastically recommend it once again.

  • The Best

    by ImranZ

Seems to keep getting better with time. The cleanest and easiest, annotating, organizable document reader in the App Store. The WiFi enabled file browsing is so convenient, and the support is responsive and inputs feedback into future fixes. This is hands down one of the best values out there. I use it for work and for personal. Phenomenal.

  • Ver 3.19 and 3.20

    by N.r.l.

In attempting to read a 500 page PDF both versions are unusable. This is supposed to be the gold standard. Any suggestions?

  • Finally back to 5 stars

    by JohnJay1231

This truly is a great app once again. It's been months that I've been waiting for this update. It was worth the wait. Glad to have you back GoodReader!!!

  • Returned to be the best PDF Reader App for IOS

    by stonerwinst

As you can see in my previous review below, it was pretty scathing. But the latest version fixes all of the issues and the app now runs perfectly in IOS 7. I am still a little bitter about the whole experience with Goodreader and I really want to will give it 4 stars instead of 5. Functionally Goodreader really is the best one out there. Another big plus is that they didn't force customers to pay again like competing apps. Thanks Goodreader for releasing a good update and keep up the "Good" name. --- This app used to be the one and only for PDF reading. Now, all it does is crash when reading a few pages. What are the developers doing??? Seriously, this app should be used as a case study in how an excellent app is screwed up. Save yourself time, money, and frustration. Do not buy because this app will constantly crash on you. This may be app of the year in 2010, but in 2013 this is app wins piece of sh!t of the year.

    The best.

  • Nice update but no preview

    by Bef1234

Goodreader is my most used app and the new update looks and works great. But, the preview has been removed and this really cripples the usefulness for me. My folders are full of journal articles with non-descriptive names but I could read the title of the paper from the preview. This way I could quickly find the paper I was looking for. The thumbnails are way too small and opening each PDF takes way too long. Please bring back the preview.

  • Superb!

    by GA Trainer

Needed a solution to work with linked files in a common folder. Works perfectly for this! THANK YOU!!!!

  • Nice enough update

    by LantaNana

I appreciate the update. I find the gray color too dark and was hoping there would be a setting to change the theme. The gray makes it hard to see the text and options. Maybe themes will come later or at least the option to change the menu background.

  • Thankfully great again....

    by Markagraber

Most useful app on my iPad for reading PDFs, Word documents, etc. Great for transferring files. All I can say is thank goodness it is back!

  • GoodReader is BACK!!!!

    by Forcexxv

I've been a GoodReader user for a while now; before this update it was a complete MESS in iOS7. Now with this update, it's back to form and INCREDIBLE!!! A must have for every iPad user. Trust me, instead of buying a couple games/other apps, buy THIS APP. You will not regret it!

  • Return to form, FINALLY

    by earthday47

I was so disappointed when GoodReader did not function properly after iOS 7 update. And the incredible amount of time to produce this update (with no communication from the developers, mind you) was making me doubt the greatness of this app. But it's back, and baby, it's GOOD. PDF rendering is lightning fast, the new design is great, and everything works like before. It may have been a whole getting here but it's oh so worth it. Buy an iPad JUST for this app. But take note developers, give us more of a heads up. For a company that prides itself on excellence you dropped the ball on communication, and that's why it lost a star.

  • Review update from 3 to 5

    by zanzibarwinds

It's been updated and it works fine now and puts it back on the top of the PDF reader pile. Thanks for update.

  • Preview section gone

    by Linda Gregory

I am so disappointed that the preview section has disappeared. It was so convenient to view the file before opening it.

  • 4.5 Stars

    by Kritik44

This is my heavy duty PDF app. I like that I have several styles of markup available, and that they are straight and uniform. Having to save to apply highlights is a little clunky. I especially value the ability to copy text out of accessible pdf files. For extensive drawing and "hand" editing or annotating comparable to paper, I use Goodnotes and value the ability to add extra pages. If GoodReader could make it easier to hand annotate and give us the capability of adding blank pages, it would be a titan. For now I need them both, and I'm grateful that I can save and move documents between then now and then.

  • New upgrade

    by acmcl

The new upgrade is fantastic! To be able to listen to and control audio while having easy access to musical scores is something I've been trying to manage for years. To be able to make notations on those scores is added value. The new GoodReader just may be the best thing in software that's come along in years, thanks!

  • highlighting is awkward

    by Maltinfan

To highlight, you have to go into "highlight mode", make all your highlights while in that mode, and then click save. Navigating while in highlight mode is awkward - there is a forward and back nav for pages while in highlight mode but the buttons are really small and up at the top of the screen with no way to move them that I've found. So frustrating that you can't just highlight the file as you're reading it. The rest of the app seems really good - dropbox sync is fast and intuitive, and file management is solid. But the poor highlight workflow is a deal breaker and makes me regret buying the app.

  • Back in business

    by musician dan

Fixed the iOS 7 problems. Back to Good Reader goodness. yeah!!!! Still a little slow w big pdfs on my iPad 2, but very much manageable.

  • Finally!

As good as before with a nicer interface. Thank you.

  • No love for Lefties

    by LA Rudyard

I've been a loyal goodreader user and proponent for a couple years now, but may be moving on to pdf expert now. The real clincher for me is support for left handed wrist protection. Goodreader still has not added this feature, and there are other apps like notability, pdf expert, and penultimate that do offer it. Until they add some protection for lefties, I have to rate this as only 3 stars - even an idea of when they might work it in would be helpful, but my inquiries have all been met with vague noncommittal responses. Maybe they'll get to it someday...

  • Fixed!

    by michaelbraun

All iOS 7 issues are fixed, and GoodReader is again my most vital app for daily work.

  • About time!!

    by Dave85204

Great update solved the grey screen

  • Ok, it's time to comment (5 Stars)

    by MarcusAurelius43

I've been using this app for the last year without commenting until now. It's time. Although GoodReader is promoted as a serious and versatile enhanced PDF reader, it can be so much more, played down in the app description. Among the numerous features that I use it for, there is the ability to display photos and video. You wouldn't know it from this all-in-one app's name! I create a new folder in GoodReader, plug the iPad into a USB port on my PC, copy photos and video (mp4 works perfectly) into the new folder in GoodReader, and I'm ready to take my slideshow/video player on the road, all done inside GoodReader. App has never crashed on me, and the latest significant update makes the product an order of magnitude better to use. Couldn't get along without it. Try it you'll see.

  • (Was) Best File Manager/PDF Annotation App

    by Amazing Iceman

Update: GoodReader is finally back! Once again, it's the best file manager. The long wait was 100% worth it. Fast and reliable application that doesn't crash or hog your resources. Old Update: This amazing app is having a bad time, as it's PDF viewing functionality currently does not work properly, and it's very annoying running slow, with frequent fast viewing engine crashes. A new version is coming, but considering how much I rely in this app, the waiting is painful. Original Review: There's no better app with this capability. Synchronization works great, and it's fully customizable. Be aware that GoodReader conforms to the latest file naming conventions set by Dropbox; make sure your files are named accordingly. It may seem like a hassle, but it's for the best.

  • No google drive sync

    by Jus d'Orange

Still no sync feature with Google Drive. PDF Expert has had this feature for a long time

  • Need to redesign the icon

Kind of slow on my iPad 3

  • An Amazing tool for professionals!

    by Sikapuka

I am joining the choir of excited users - the app is back and is better than ever! I have been using this indispensable tool for more than two years now, and it has proven to be more useful (for certain tasks), than even the desktop counterparts like Acrobat and Preview. I am using GoodReader to annotate the sheetmusic for my students - adding bowing, fingering, dynamics, articulation markings and etc. This app is a real joy to work with. Thank you Very much, developers!

  • Great app (but please improve bookmarking tools)

    by Juan Diego Prieto

It's so nice to be able to use GoodReader again without it crashing constantly, though I can't say it was worth the wait (four months is way too long, especially given their total failure to pay attention to users' concerns, and this was by no means a major update). Still, as a graduate student who spends most of his life reading and annotating PDFs, I don't know what I would do without GoodReader and its flawless SugarSync compatibility. At the same time, the app still really needs the option to export bookmarks (even if only as plain text). The bookmarking tool is one of the app's main assets, but the bookmarks you create can only be seen in the app; they cannot be saved to the PDF you are adding them to.

  • DropBox integration!!

    by glo10

Love this app, and LOVE the updated DropBox integration -- so much smoother. Thank You!

  • Awesome!

    by Pebbles1256

This app has so many useful functions and is so intelligently designed. The only thing it's missing is ePub/MOBI reading capability. Then it would be complete...
