  This app looks and works amazing. It has many great filters that look just like the real thing. Not like an Instagram orange/brown look but actually looks just like film. I haven't found any other app that even comes close to how great this one is.

  Great amount of choices in film and camera for video. The 4:3 and 16:9 allows for editing together with my iPhone cam for even better movies. I love it.

  I highly recommend this app, love the new version because you can add music!! I haven't been able to upload to Facebook because files are apparently too small but it may just be a me problem, I've yet to check settings.

  I'm a pro photographer (yes it is my full time job) and a huge fan of vintage, b&w film. The only TV I ever watch is TCM. This is an outstanding app! No complaints and a lot of fun to play around with between photo sessions. I just wish you guys had made one just like it, but as a 16mm. Oh wait, it's an app so it doesn't matter I guess.

  I am a photographer and videographer, and I can't always have my DSLR on me so I like to have fully functioning camera and video apps on my phone. I've been using kitcam (recently discontinued) for both, and I do love it for images- but this app is honestly the best I've used for video. My only criticism/suggestions are to add more themes and fonts choices and to allow shortening of clips in app as well as uploading videos shot with the phones default camera.

  The iPhone's camera is absolutely perfect for Super 8mm emulation. It's clear and versatile enough that you can tell what's going on, but just low enough quality to sell the look perfectly. I use a Canon 5D mkII for my filmmaking, but I can easily see myself using the app to do some cool vintage shots. The pros to this app are many, and there is so much I love about it, but there are a few issues I found. Sadly, there is no manual video control like there is with other apps that would be useful for someone like me (however, this shouldn't be a problem for normal users), but I was able to get around this by using Filmic pro to shoot manual video and then apply 8mm's filters to the video I shot (which the app brilliantly allows you to do). Despite the workaround, it would be nice to get a few basic manual controls in-app. My other problem is how unintuitive the app can be at times. When I first opened it, I was a little overwhelmed by all the largely unexplained buttons (although I later figured that there is a help button that explains everything on the main screen), but, after playing around with everything, I figured the important buttons out. Some more important menu functions are also a little hard to find. For instance, the option to change the aspect ratio from 4x3 (standard) to 16x9 (widescreen) is accessed by going through videos and then settings. Other than those (tiny, nit-picky) flaws, this app is awesome and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to explore creative video options easily, or to anyone just wanting to have fun!

• Most Fun Video Montage App!!

  I've had this app for about 8 months and initially it was a fun way to simply record a video in an old-timey feel. But now that I've actually recently updated it, I love it 10x more!! It now allows you to create a reel to make a video montage combining any of your clips together. Once you've created a reel you can add a theme which adds in music, transitions, etc! I was pleasantly surprised. Fun way to capture random events or make a quick video project!

  This app is great. From duplicating my home movies with all their color problems, too-dark exposure, etc. when I was a kid in the '60's to recreating the look of Lon Chaney's 1925 "Phantom of the Opera", this app does it all. The projector noise and frame jitter are just icing on the cake. I've had film production classes and really like old movies...nice to know that I can duplicate just about anything in terms of cinematic look and feel for only 99 cents. Great job!

• Great Video Camera, but crashes

  Spent the day trying out the different old time video options. Loved them! It was so fun. Then, when I went to review them in my photos app, it crashed and I lost all my videos. Apparently 8mm and the iPhone 5s photo app do not play well together.

  I hadn't opened this app for months until tonight... So glad I came back! The updates are great; it's simple to use, and I love the interface. Makes me want to start taking more video! Wondering if there is a way to turn off the projector sounds. Would love to see a way to quickly edit & have more control over clip lengths from within the reel. Really great app. Love it!

  This is worth every penny. The vintage effects are beautiful. I wish that there was just a camera option, however. The 60s is my favorite with the orangish light leak... Amazing :)

  Frustrated. I cannot record film unless sound is on "mute". I have spent time adjusting every setting but without success. Looks like a cool app. Would be nice if it recorded sound.
