Foot Decide - Point of Care Patient Education for Healthcare Professionals by Orca Health (formerly Orca MD)
This version of FootDecide combines a new design with access to surgical videos and enables you to Draw / Annotate images and Send / Prescribe Digital Handouts (app content) to your patients.
FootDecide is free for personal use only.
Generate your own ‘Prescribable’ Digital Handouts, using photo or video capture. All Digital Handouts you Send to your patients will be hosted on HIPAA-secure servers by Orca.
This will allow you to take pictures and videos of your patient or patient’s medical imagery (MRIs, x-rays, etc.), Draw on those images and add them to the Digital Handouts you Send to your patients. This feature will help you deliver them personalized patient education, which will, in turn, improve their satisfaction and retention--all while enhancing their understanding of their condition and treatment.
We know privacy is important to you and your patients, as a result, all of these Digital Handouts will be hosted by Orca and is available to your patients via a HIPAA-secure web portal, which will be linked to your search-optimized Orca Health Specialist Profile.
FootDecide is a multisensory learning tool, which empowers healthcare specialists to teach their patients more quickly, efficiently and effectively. The app includes interactive 3D animations that permit you to explore and explain anatomy like never before.
Studies show that 3D animations are more effective than text, physical models and 2D illustrations, in communicating health information.
Lastly, augmented reality provides a unique way to enhance comprehension in-context, by enhancing the patient’s worldview with relevant visual and auditory information.
Satisfaction levels among people who are well-informed about their health are much higher than those who don’t understand their condition or treatment. Patients who interact with information via multiple sensory inputs feel more satisfied with the course of action they choose and the care they receive.
FootDecide is free to download and free for personal use. FootDecide's in-app subscription adds the Draw / Annotation and Send / Prescribe features to the free-for-personal-use Anatomy, Condition and Procedure content and is available through an auto-renewing subscription.
The in-app subscription also includes ongoing HIPAA-secure hosting of Prescribed Digital Handouts as well as regular content updates. As long as you subscribe to these tools, there's no limit to the Digital Handouts we will host for you and your patients or your licensed professional use of app content.
Please note: At the conclusion of your 14 day free trial, **you will not be automatically charged for this service**.
Two subscription options:
◦ Orca Tools monthly subscription for $20
◦ Orca Tools annual subscription for $200 (a 20% discount on the monthly price)
Subscriptions will be charged to your credit card through your iTunes account. Your subscription will automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. The cost of renewal will be the same as the initial subscription cost. You will not be able to cancel a subscription during the active period. Manage your subscriptions and auto-renewal in the Account Settings after purchase.

This update for iOS 7 is awesome. Fixes all the glitches from before. Videos are beautiful, easy to use for patient education.
Good graphics and great potential. However none of the patient education videos work because the app crashes.
Upon linking to the different findings, the app. closes instead I playing video.
I love these apps!! So much great info!
A superb tool for communicating foot problems and solutions to footwear customers. And it's free!
Please add annotations to this app is the only thing missing to make it great like the other orca apps
I love all of the apps that orca md has put out. Only difference between this app (foot decide) and the others, is no annotations. Please add annotations to foot decide
This is a fabulous app! Very educational without too much medical terminology. Has pictures, animations, notated MRI and x-rays. You can just point to where it hurts, and find possible explanations for pain, or explore and educate yourself about your own anatomy (and just what can go wrong.)
Find out how great this line up is
I really love this app. Great graphics.
Welcome to all our new users and thank you for your interest in FootDecide and Orca Health. Whether you are a patient, healthcare professional, or teacher, we hope you find the app a powerful teaching and learning tool that helps you (or those you instruct) find best practice solutions to your (or their) health problems. We aspire to producing the best patient education tool possible and to that end, invite feedback (both positive and less-than-positive) which we will use to improve our existing apps and guide development of future apps and features. Please email me and I will be happy to pass on your critique to our development team and help resolve any current problems you may be having with the app. Thank you, Matt Berry Founder & CEO of Orca Health berry AT orcahealth DOT com
I am a dance teacher and have come across many of these injuries as a professional dancer and dance teacher. This app really helps me to show the kids what might be occurring with them and sure enough after they see the doctor I was right. Thanks for this app it is much appreciated!
I like the animation of the foot walking. It lets me stop the sequence right at the point where I have pain and show it to my Doctor.
All the same great features as the iPhone version of this app, but its designed for iPad and its larger screen!! Way cool app! Must buy! Would love to see the moonwalk included as a 3d animation in a future update!
So love this app! Wish I'd had it as a study guide when I took anatomy in undergrad.
This app is awesome! Theres several 3d rotatable views of the foot, and tons of conditions to look through. If you have any problems, you can easily find a specialist in your area that can take care of you!
The orca medical apps are great, and with this new one they have outdone themselves. The images are larger and really well done. This is a great addition to the orca family.
I have an ankle that I keep twisting. It helped me to see how the ankle and foot worked together and get an idea of how the sprain happens. I also am looking for a physician that can help me through the Find A Specialist section.
Wow! The 3-d graphics are amazingly detailed! Also, the slot machine style of selecting a foot condition looks pretty cool. It's also educational since it's packed with information.
I haven't found another app with this amount of information in the medical section that is so easy to navigate. I think it was well designed.
I love the spine app, so I went ahead and installed the foot app. Unfortunately I can only get into reading about the anatomy, and if I try and see the symptoms, the app automatically closes.
I have no clue why people are saying this is a good app. The movements are only correct for the walking side view. The videos are 6 seconds and give no more information than a picture comparison of a normal foot with one with the deformity. Sure, you can say "it hurts here" and pick the problem. You can also do this with google. If your doctor uses this app to help you understand a problem, run in the opposite direction as fast as possible. The only information in this app is "pain here + swelling here = medical term."
There is an awesome amount of content in this app. I know people have said that it can all be found online but I don't have time to spend hours looking for all of it. Plus the 3D motion feature is really cool.
I love the details, but even better I like that I can email information from the app to my family.
I love the details, but even better I like that I can email information from the app to my family.
Great app. Love the visuals and how thorough the descriptions are.
I love how the foot can be rotated in virtually any direction. It's very in depth and is very rich in content. One of the best!
The annotations are great on the MRIs are great. I broke my ankle a few years ago, and now I actually know what the doctors were talking about with all those bones and ligaments and stuff.
The interactivity and detail is even better than the previous Orca apps. I love the motion options in the anatomy section!
This company never quits! Every single app they release is absolutely amazing! The new 3D conditions sections is mind blowing! This is the type of stuff you see in science fiction movies! I wouldn't be surprised to see this at my next doctors visit!
I have the spine app and this is a completely new update from that. I love exploring the anatomy and the astonishing new foot touch feature on the condition page. This is a must have app.
This App has the possibility of diving into explicit details while taking complex educational images and uncovering the mystery of it all simply. Good for students and everyday people. This is clear, easy, and pleasing to the eye. Explaining to a patient things that sometimes go beyond the imagination is now possible.
It's amazing to be able to see what the muscles and ligaments are doing UNDER the skin! This is one of the most informative medical apps on the market. I recommend all of the orca apps for anyone who needs to understand what is causing their condition.
Definitely my favorite Orca MD app so far! Wow.
I've got each of the apps in this series, and enjoy learning more about the human anatomy by browsing them. There is tons of information, including MRIs and detailed 3d illustrations.
I love the 3d rotation on the condition page. It really improves my knowledge of the anatomy.
i love the 3D anatomy section. It really helps you to understand all the different layers under the skin.
I love foot decide! my husband has a semi - rare condition where he has an extra bone in his foot. With the imagery in foot decide it was easy to see where the extra bone fit in and possible ways to reduce his foot pain.
I just spent the last hour exploring the foot - this is great. I'm very impressed with this well produced APP and also impressed with the consistency of OrcaMD's "Decide" series. What a great concept - and very well done indeed.
