Discover elements by experimenting with the lab tools!

* Take your element for a spin in the centrifuge.
* Warm them up in the Bunsen burner.
* Put the element on ice with the cooling agent!
* Add a drop or two of mysterious liquids from the test tubes.
* Change their voltage and make them magnetic with the oscilloscope.

Each element has it's own personality. In Toca Lab, what does Neon sound like? Is Gold heavy or light? Is Nitrogen squishy or hard? Explore, inspect, and study each one and let us know! Can you find all 118?

  I realize toca aims its apps towards children but older kids and adults use these apps too. It's a bit too simple, it shouldn't tell us how to create the next elements. It takes the fun out of discovering them and when you do discover them they only put the symbol on the element. It would be better for learning if they put the whole name of the element somewhere. I don't know if to a realizes that if they made apps like this but geared a bit towards teens that they could be making so much more money. Anyways, it's not worth 3$ yet in my opinion. If they made it a tad more complex and left some mystery to the discoveries then maybe.

  My 5 year old son loves this app. Yes I know it is not scientifically accurate, but for a young kid it is an entertaining introduction to the elements. I understand that it appeals to young kids to make the silly sounds, but please at least add the names to be read. When my son first started playing with the app, he thought the silly sounds were the elements names. I showed him a real periodic table and explained they had real names. It would be great for kids to be able to learn the names along with the symbols! I would give the app five stars, if it showed the names of the elements.

  My daughter has been begging for this game. As a chemistry teacher, I agreed. However, after downloading and playing the game, I'm not sure I'm going to let her play this game. It is completely inaccurate. Elements cannot be turned into other elements by physical or chemical means. Ugh, too upset to write any more. Wish I had read the reviews.

  This game has great potential and is quite an original game. It also shows great dedication in every aspect of the game, but when it comes to science, it is COMPLETELY incorrect. Turning elements into other elements defies so many things scientists know to be true. If you could add your own protons or something, then this game could be more realistic. If the game fixed it's facts and possibly added some more puzzles to make the game more of a mystery, then this could be sooo much better.

  It was fun for a bit but i think the elements should say their names. Its is not very scientifically accurate. It started to become very boring after a while. I beat it within 1 hour of buying it. Also what is the point of the box? It was not worth the price.

  Kids fav Toca Boca game. Super cute. Wish element names were included, or option to name them based on: gas, solid, liquid and color. My only compliant is once the kids filled table, less then 24hours, they lost interest. For $2.99, not the best money spent on an app for the day.

  My daughter enjoys playing around with the lab but has grown bored with it due to its lack of depth. First the full name of elements doesn't even appear. Room for improvement- At the very least toca should allow you to click on the clipboard to pull up a "diagram" of the element with a note of its constituent particles - Neutrons, protons and electrons. The lab could decide to be less like alchemy and more like a star going supernova. The experiments could add or take away particles thus creating new elements. Or they could allow you to fuse already discovered elements together. It has so much promise but the execution on the science side is disappointing

  While this game is fun and entertaining, it only takes about an hour or less to finish, and is defiantly not worth $2.99. Also, for the curious student, this has no valuable information on how science works, and may even provide the wrong idea. It doesn't matter how tempted you are to buy this game, its just not a good idea, unless you have three dollars to literally throw away.

  This game could be worth the amount I paid if there are improvements made to the game. It's great that there are over 100 different elements to discover, but by telling us how to discover it takes away the whole discovering part. The game would be much more satisfying if all of the elements were a mystery to find out. Also, I think there should be more options of what you can do with the elements. Add more things than just boiling, freezing, zapping, and blowing. There should be tons of different things! Also, with the test tube option, I find it pointless because on the majority of the elements it doesn't have any effect. I think on all the elements it should have a different effect, like all he other options. I also think when you do something to one of he elements, it doesn't have to turn into another element. Maybe it can have a chemical or physical change like in real science. It could change color, shape, etc. this game has a lot of potential,but I think it would be more worth the money, and be much more if if these improvements are made.

  Very clever game, my son just turned 6 years old and home schooled, this game has opened the discussion of the periodic table and where the elements are on the table, what element is gas, metal, magnetic and such. He has fun discovering new elements in the lab and we discuss what each method of experiments in the lab would or could be used for in a real lab. Like others have said, you do need to explain to kids that you can not actually convert the last element found into another element on the periodic table, they are in purest form already, so that was a bit confusing, but we enjoyed the clues given to find the next element, which believe was their real intent. I wish they had a short description of each element, but we have taken advantage of researching each element as we play and it has been fun to see what year the element was discovered, many new since I went to college!

  It is fun to play as a game but it's not building any child's knowledge at ALL! I don't suggest it as a learning game but I suggest it as a game to keep your child/children entertained. Also if you want this game to build the knowledge of a child or your child ,I'm in 4th grade and I know it's not giving me more knowledge and it can destroy your child's learning. If you do get this game for your child I suggest you tell her or him that it is definitely not teaching him/her. As I said at the top, it's a good game to entertain, not learn.

  First off, no, this app isn’t scientifically accurate i.e. you can’t turn mercury into gold by putting it into a centrifuge. That said, it is a fun exploration of the periodic table, using some basic process of elimination puzzles to discover new elements. And while it’s not scientifically accurate, it was fun to notice little bits that are: relative densities of the elements are somewhat reflected in their characters. That all said, it’d be great to see that little bit more in this app….being able to tap on the symbol to get the full name of the element would seem to be a given.

  It's a great game but I think you must have a basic to amateur understanding of the elements to get this like when you find helium the voice is high pitched but I could see how a 6 year old would not understand that it would be helium furthermore I think that you could just simply write the name out than just leave hints I have a hard time understanding what most of these are and I'm older than the average age of kids who play it lastly it would be better if you could do more to the elements that would be really fun but over all this is a great game

  This app has floored our 3 yr old daughter, and I love that it's making her more interested in chemistry. This and the entire Toca app catalog should be purchased. They produce the best apps for fun and development in children. To be honest, my wife and I compete for the iPad with our kids to play their apps at times. All are must-have. Keep up the quality Toca Boca!

  This game is adorable I just wish it was more like science!! I wish you could also combine elements and actually do stuff with the things in the box. I really don't like how the magnetic guys are attracted to things that aren't even magnetic. This isn't your guy's best game but I think you can make it better.

  It's a very fun app. Playing with "elements" Only problem is, It's not teaching my kids anything. They just play around with these toy things. And like the electricity thing. My kids are actually starting to think that if they take coal and electrify it they're going to get some other weird element that they have created. That's NOT science And whats up with those question marks? We have No idea what those mean!

  This is one of Toca Boca's best games. The elements are cute and the game is very entertaining. I recommend this game to any Toca Boca fan. The reason I rate it 4 stars is because you need to make more ways to change the elements. But, I think Toca Lab is a fun and cute game.

  This game is fun to play if your bored but, it is also teaching kids to mix chemicals. All the elements do is make sounds which can be fun for little kids. I'm only saying little kids because I'm not that little. What I think is there should be more fun ways to make the elements.
