Updated new color puzzle in letter Y. This is a universal app at full resolution for iPad and iPhone with several fun gravity effects and improved sound. You don't have to press 2x to run at full size on your iPad.
The "ABCs" section of Starfall.com's well-loved website is now available as a universal application for your iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Our activities motivate through positive reinforcement and play. (Note: App contains the ABC letter section only, NOT the whole website)
Children delight as they see, hear, and interact with letters and sounds in words, sentences, and games. They learn to recognize letters and develop skills that will ensure they become confident leaders. All children, and especially English language learners, benefit.
Check out the site if you are worried about if it is worth it or not. Only complaint is I wish it included the signing ABC's. It is great for pre readers! If your kiddo is really ready to learn to read I'd personally skip this and buy their other app.
My daughter loves it she started sounding her letters at 18 month
Great app for kids to learn their phonics. Well worth the price.
I agree with many, my grandson is using this site in school and was excited to get it but this app is quite limited.
I really love this app and the website...but where oh where is the full ABC song with that ever so funny man??? Help please!!!
Recommended by my sons speech therapist it has helped him make HUGE language strides. Well worth the money to find an app that engages him to try saying new sounds. Five stars - this app rocks! ;)
I heard about the starfall homeschooling program and saw that they had 2apps available. I bought them just so he could see them on his iPad and on the computer when we work together. It would be nice if it had more features but my son loves it, so I am happy with that.
My kids love this app. I wish it played the abc song though. Am I just missing something? Other than that it is great!
It's ok. Not extremely special.
We have found the app to be a fun way to review the alphabet/words, but ZIGZAG for Z is too busy and described as "Scary" by our 3 yr old. The characters look spooky, have only one leg each and intense eyes...hoping this one can be replaced! ;)
I like this star fall abc for my son very educational
My 18 month old loves this app. She has learned all her letters and is now pronouncing the sounds....amazing!
I use Starfall in my classroom and wanted the app for my 2 year old. He loves it and is able to operate it perfectly. My only wish is that it had more functions like I use online. It's worth the purchase because my son is already repeating the sounds of the letters.
This app is one of the best I have bought for my 17 month old. It is easy for him to use and teaches him the sounds of the alphabet. I have found that a lot of the other apps to teach the alphabet are too hard for him to control on his own. I also like the repetition of the sounds the letters make to instill them in the children's minds.
My 19 month old loves this app and she is already starting to recognize the letters thanks to this app!! She can do the app all by herself, she really is obsessed!!
This is an excellent app for young toddlers. It has a wide variety of pictures, sounds, and interactions - much more than I'd expect for an abc app. My kid just loves it! Best part is that unlike a lot of apps targeted at children, this one doesn't have hooks back to the AppStore, or in app purchases. For a mere $3, I get a great app, that never asks for money again. Very rare these days. Thanks, and keep up the awesome work!
She asks for it and can do it by herself, and she has letter recognition now!
My wife's a teacher and I was skeptical if our son would use this app on our iPad. He has not put it down! He already knew his ABC's (2 years and 2 months), but he is learning the phonics now as well. Best $2.99 I've spent in a long time. Worth it to just look over and hear him say "sssss".....skip the latte and pick thus up for your little one.
It's not as comprehensive as the online paid version, true. But I can't let my kids at the laptop while waiting at a Dr.s appt. or during someone else's practice or lesson. This LITERALLY taught my 4 year old all her phonics and basic reading skills. I added the starfall reading app along with a few learning touch apps when she mastered this alphabet/phonics app. She is reading as well OR BETTER than her 7 year old brother. I largely credit Starfall. I also HIGHLY recommend the online paid version for desktops and laptops.
My daughter is learning so much from starfall. Thanks!
Wouldn't recommend it for the price. I should have read the reviews.like ages 0-3
What a waste of money! More like for ages 2-4!
Very disappointed. Not worth $2.99.
The Starfall website is amazing off the internet....this app (for costing $2.99) was a FAIL!!! Only the ABC's when the website offers so much more. I'd like my money back!
I am very disappointed!!! I tried and tried to get to the first grade areas and kept getting this so I thought I had to buy it to get to where I needed to go. I have been a starfall fan in the past but very disappointed right now. I just bought something I do not need!
All the pictures from the website should not be included if its not going to be on the app. This app is NOT worth 2.99.
If I could return it, I would. I thought I was buying more than just the ABC part...Read what is included before purchasing.
I only saw the alphabet, no maze, no activitites just an over priced app! I'm disappointed.
2.99?? For that?? Don't buy!
I was also disappointed. It's only abc's and my 5 year old said it was boring after doing two letters.
I was disappointed that I didn't get the full version of starfall for the price
This app needs to be more competitive with what kids are used to (nick jr, sesame, Disney). This did not hold my 4 year old's attention. It will be a waste of money if you r looking for something fun, interactive, and teach phonics. In summary, too slow.
This app is not worth $2.99.....I thought is would be similar to the online version....only ABC's.
$2.99 for ABC's is not worth it - my kids very disappointed! Online version is great.
I am a teacher and I suggest Starfall for ALL of my beginning readers in K to 2nd grades. I decided to see how my 3 year old grandson likes it and it has become one of his favorite things to do. On the computer he needs help but on my iPhone he can navigate without help. He is learning letters, sounds and vocabulary. Even my 1 year old grandson likes to watch it for a short time. Thanks Starfall!
We love Starfall! My 2 1/2 year old is on her way to mastering phonics with Starfall! Love having the app for when Internet isn't available.
It is not worthy to spend $2.99 for just ABC's
I recently purchased an iPad for my special needs daughter. She loves to play starfall on the computer so much that I joined more starfall for a year and was thinking about signing up for another year. When you join you can authorize so many computers. So I was going to authorize her new iPad so she can now use it on her own computer/iPad. When I tried to authorize her iPad the sight redirects me to buy apps, several different apps and I can't even get to the part to authorize her iPad under the account that I already purchase for $35 a year. The sight is broken down into several different apps to purchase from $1.99 - $2.99 each! Now that does not make sense! My account is up for renewal in 2 weeks and I may not choose to renew! This needs to be fixed!
I expected to have access at least to basic Starfall
Love
The free website has much more to offer. For $2.99 this app is a rip off.
I am a teacher who uses this app with my students and my own children. It's worth every penny.
Anytime my son hits the letter "A" and does a few of the games, it closes out of the app. Other than that, it's a great app!
A serious waste of money. I thought this app included everything that the online website featured. The web version is FREE and includes phonics lessons, read along stories and more!
A friend mentioned this app, so we got it and my 3 yr old loves it. She is finally taking an interest in learning her letters. She did say she would like a "maze game" like the patterns mazes on the website.
"I love my ABC's [APP]." "I want to rate it 6 Stars." (She's used the app since she was 10 mo old.)
Thank you so much this is a great way to practice my little sisters ABC"s.
I think this is a great program for the kids. I really think it has helped my child not just with the letters but colors shapes .
For $3 worth is crap...not worth buying.... I thought it had more than it shows ...but NO!
You think when you watch a preview of program that it's only a small portion, but what it shows is ALL you get. It goes through a-z with sight, sound, and object examples and onto next alphabet. The program on PC is the whole shebang. You can just keep $3 cha Ching cha Ching and you won't ever stop paying $3 to get what is free in windows PC version. :( sad
This app does not include as much material as it does on the computer and it cost to have it. I recommend to add more of the program.
This is a wonderful program. This give my seven year old a chance to learn after school. He is highly interested by this program. I give it two big thumbs way up.
My 20 mth old loves it. my 7 yr old read at 20 mths old with starfall it's awesome ,the only issue is there is not enough in the apps .
