  Great layout. Outstanding access to an extensive list of shows and episodes. The ability to watch this many fully episodes is wonderful for kids! Would love to see ability added for airplay to stream from iPad through Apple TV. But that would only enhance an already great app!

  Thank you for fixing it!! My son loves it and has been asking for it since it stopped working. Why are you stopping to support iPad 1???? My son loved this app and now no longer works!!!! Don't get bully by corporate America trying to forcing people to keep buying the latest iPad. iPad works great but fewer and fewer apps are now not working since they want you to upgrade to newer model.

  My daughter loves this act but unfortunately the act continues to freeze up. My daughter have not been able to use the app for several weeks. I submitted an e-mail to PBS last week asking for help in preventing the app from freezing. I am still waiting on a response.

  Great for kids to stay entertained while shopping or out and about and you need to keep them busy. It gives them many choices. I only let them choose the educational ones though.

  I was very disappointed the last time I updated this app on my iPad and it no longer worked. My 2 year old granddaughter loves this app and kept trying to open it and it would just open and then close. I tried using just the PBS site but it was not the same and way too slow!! So when I saw it could be updated again I did and then kept my fingers crossed. Well, I am happy to say it works!! I can't wait for Mady to try it tomorrow. I wanted to write this so that everyone who had problems last time they updated will know that it now works.

  When my kids said they could not get this app to work anymore I did some looking and found what many unhappy people have found. I found that I was being left behind because I either can't afford new hardware or have hardware that is still perfectly functioning that should not have to be replaced. I however got to thinking and remembered I had backed up all my files recently because I was upgrading my computer and was able to go into my back up and pull the old version out of there. So my kids are happy because they can use this application again, but I am unhappy that the update takes out a large market of people who may have a newer device for themselves and gave their old device to their kids so they did not have to worry about the new one getting damaged. I like this app and would rate it higher if it was still usable for all people.

  My son LOVED this app but due to the newest update it won't work on the original iPad. I am so very disappointed that you had to do this. Plenty of other apps have had update but continued to work for our obsolete (3 year old) iPad. Shame on you PBS, you broke the hearts of many children.

  Confirmed with email from PBS the app will not work on the 1st Gen iPad anymore. Really wish we hadn't updated the app. It was working just fine. Here are my grievances: 1) Killing support for earlier operating systems is dumb and as someone mentioned not the smartest move for a publicly funded entity to exclude any user-base. 1st gen iPads aren't door stops. They are functional devices that are being handed down to the core audience for this app. 2) PBS developers need help from their communications team or need a better communications team. The tech specs (as of 1/3/2014) still list iOS 4.3 or higher. Indicating that the app UPDATE only works with iOS 6 or higher doesn't adequately or clearly communicate that the ENTIRE app is now incompatible with earlier iOS versions. Proposed solutions: 1) Provide an iOS 5 version and an iOS6 version. (From the feedback I read I wonder if the app was a total rewrite and the newer version is a data hog.) Add a disclaimer for iOS 5 users that the app won't be supported with more updates. 2) Document the work-around other users have indicated to restore a previous version of the app. 3) Need funds to support the app development/support? Charge for the app and disclose that the funds are going for that purpose. It could also be a donation/revenue stream for PBS. I'm more likely to spend $ on an app and more frequently than a telethon. Come on PBS - get it together. Hell hath no fury like a mother of upset toddlers.

  Thanks a lot, Apple. My daughter loves to watch PBS, as she has for the last 3 years on her iPad. You couldn't keep the version that runs on older iPads? The answer is yes, you could. But you refuse. This is what makes Apple products less and less desirable. If you think we're going to just buy the next several hundred dollar item to work for every update, you are clearly out of touch with your market.

  Really disappointed in PBS lack of understanding it's user base. Not all families can afford the newest iPads for their kids to use and now you make the app only usable with iOS6 and higher.

  This has been my daughters favorite app but now after the latest update it will not open. I guess it doesn't work with IOS 5.1.1.1 on her IPad 1.

  I have access to a plethora of iOS devices running different versions of iOS (since Apple won't update the iPad 1 or iPod Touch 4), and my experience is this - iPad 4, iPad Air, iPhone 5/5c, and iPhone 5s don't have issues with this app as long as you have an LTE or other decent (>5 mbit/second) connection to the internet. Slow (cheap) DSL or Cable, WiMAX (wireless home internet from Clear), and 3G connections will choke on this app. iPhone 4, 4s, and iPad 3 (and I'm assuming the Mini and 2), along with the iPod Touch 4 and 5 are all touch and go, and (especially with iOS 7) you should quit all other open apps before running this.

  My 4 yr old is so upset that "PBS Kids doesn't work anymore", I can't really believe that you're using any new features in IOS 6 & 7 that aren't supported on 5.1.1. It's terrible coding technique as well for the app to just crash w/o notifying user the reason why, your latest update should not have been accepted by Apple.
