• Meaningful Practice in Motivating Game

  I prefer this program over others that work on facts because users need to compose factors (or addends if adding) rather than drill and kill their math facts. This is better for those working on strategy than those looking for fact fluency as it is not a fast paced game.

  This app is excellent. Graphics are fantastic, kids are totally entertained, and they solve small math problems (most of which actually require a bit of thinking) without batting an eyelash. I'm using it for my 6-year-old 1st grader and it's just right for her. The basic level is fairly easy, but the other levels get a bit more challenging. Well worth the money!!

  This app has been the BEST so far for my 3rd and 5th graders to hone their mental math skills. It's a really fun game that's engaging for all levels. I love that I can control what kinds of problems they're getting. They're so motivated to get through each door, they forget to hate the math problems they have to do to get there. Worth the money!!

  This app is perfect for learning. My child, 4, loves it and has learned to do math while having so much fun. Really, really wonderful. He likes to choose the doors, gets very excited about finding the fireflies, and simply adores the talking portraits (his favorite part). I'm thrilled to have found an app that motivates him to learn math. Love the skills level choice! Would suggest updates that grow with the kid's skills level. New portraits, new interactive things, surprises. I would pay a little more each time.

  The game should have something to do after you finish with the fireflies. And you make an avatar and it doesn't show up in the game.and how do you collect the picture fames it doesn't tell you I tap on them but I doesn't show up in the gallery. But the picture frames are funny.

  Mystery Math Town offers various customizations for addition, subtraction, and multiplication which may be practiced separately or simultaneously. Students may practice numerous skill levels within each category as well. And the game which has been created to practice these skills is quite fantastic. By properly forming number sentences and correctly identifying fact families, children are able to open doors, climb ladders, or unlock windows to collect fireflies and earn coins which will reveal a mystery story. There are no timers, which eliminates the possibility of high frustrations due to time constraints. This means children can move at a comfortable pace, learning and absorbing basic math facts at a natural momentum with better absorption leading to a more complete learning experience of the skills being utilized. And regardless of the child's age, all learners will find successful enjoyment of use because it was not designed solely towards the standard early-age emerging learners. The app is an absolute dream because kiddos WANT to use it... especially my kiddos! And nothing could be more beautiful in my eyes:-) Parents and teachers alike will find it excellent for neuro-typical learners, a-typical learners, and/or learners who may be struggling due to LDs and/or slow processing issues. I love it so much, I've deleted all other similar apps from my iPad because not only do I feel confident this one will do exactly what I wish, I know this is the only one my children will use regularly without argument. Well done!!!

  As a homeschooling mom to a son with autism, I am always searching for apps that have a balance between being fun and educational. I need something that will challenge him without frustrating him when he makes mistakes or gets confused by an overly complicated design. Mystery Math Town has that magic balance of visual, auditory and intellectual stimulation that keeps him engaged and learning for longer than most other math apps so far!

  we were on level 4 and got to a point where the math problem was insolvable using the numbers given (?x? = 30). i had to shut the game down and picked it back up tonight while my son was asleep to see if maybe i was missing something, but i wasn't. so i gave up and used one of the life preserver hints to finally finish up that level. i was going to take a screenshot and send it to the gaming company, but didn't bother.

  Just bought this app for my niece who loves Reading, Math not so much. From the minute she began playing, she couldn't stop. The real mystery about this game is that she was actually learning basic algebra skills by using logical reasoning to solve math problems; all the while rescuing fireflies and unlocking rooms. Mystery Math Town is a great Educational app which not only helps children strengthen basic math skills but also allows them to focus on character development. She loved creating her own Avatar and also learning the story of each gallery portrait, Mystery Math Town is my kind of town.

  This is a super fun app! My 1st grader said this is her new favorite "game". Initially easy, it gets a little harder and requires math strategy. She had to keep a little scratch pad for adding and subtracting larger numbers to see which combo would work. If allowed, the child could use guesses as it doesn't penalize for wrong answers, but I would not let her do that and made her work out the problems for herself if she was stuck. The graphics and animation are super fun and funny too. Hunting through the rooms is a challenge in and of itself. The ghosts are lighthearted, not scary at all. Also like that you can have multiple "players" and it keeps track of your progress. My 1st grader was motivated by this app and excited to continue play! A great buy.

  Our five year old latched onto the artwork of the icon and launched right into this intuitive app. After some initial play we did need to adjust the settings from global math down to his appropriate kindergarten level as the multiplication and large numbers are above his scope yet if artgig continues making these great games are little one's skills will be stellar in no time!!! Great entertainment/education mix!!!

  Purchased this app today and let my 2 boys at it, and watched them for about 20 minutes. wow, they were riveted. they would fight over who get a turn to do the next level. What is nice about the app is a blend of game and math. I could see they were so engrossed to get through doors/flight of stairs and do mental math to solve, that they were forgetting to even release the fireflies. Seriously, this app is sure to sharpen the skill of kids who have figured out basic counting and develop on top of it. Good work guys.

  I don't usually write reviews unless I think it is worth it. I have tried other math games and my children seem to get bored quickly. this is brilliant and engaging. Finally a math game that is both educational and fun! My kids can't put it down and we all enjoy it as a family. We are hooked. The graphics are sharp and characters are fun!!!! If you want your kids to practice their math skills this is the app for that! I would give this app 10 stars.

From the "Mystery" theme, and the manner in which you are guided through the app by a friendly ghost, who helps you on your quest to free all of the fireflies by solving math problems, this app is a winner! With eye-catching graphics, the ability to customize which math problems your child encounters, from different levels of addition, subtraction, and multiplication, as well as the inclusion of dominoes and tally marks, the app is extremely customizable as well as very entertaining! I highly recommend it!
