  I use this app a lot for school and think it's wonderful with its offline usage availability. I've been experiencing a lot of stability issues when highlighting text to underline, add a comment, highlight, etc... Is it possible to add an update to remedy this stability issue?

• Why so far behind MS Word?

  The iPad version of Pages is very intuitive, yet one of the main features does not work - Spell Check. Most everything else is smooth and enjoyable to use, but I find myself having to copy my work over to a virtual version of MS Word like CloudOn to do spell check. This is not cool Apple. When will we get Office (at least Word), or when will Spell Check be robust enough to use? I am curious, if the spell check or a grammar check like MS Word would make the app download size too big, then perhaps an internet enable feature could be worked in (you know like Siri), where the app would call to your servers in Cupertino and run a real-time spell/grammar check. People want this feature, and those who use Apple products know they're getting quality high end product and features. Please keep us happy. I hate carrying around my old PC (it's heavy) - the iPad does most everything I need to do my work. Minimalism is key peace of mind and kindness to the soul. :) Suggestion noted on Apple Apps forum not working... Check spelling: Tap in the toolbar, and then tap Settings. Slide Check Spelling to ON. Misspelled words in your document are underlined in red. In many cases, Pages can suggest an alternative spelling.

  I really like pages it's convenient for me to carry my ipad & do schoolwork. However, I just realized when trying to upload a document on the internet via browse computer link it only allows me to browse pictures. This review may be a apple review or a pages review but nonetheless it's still a bummer to not be able to upload pages documents at a attachment instead of sending a iCloud share link

• Document name color change

  Have difficulty in reading my document names because they are red color. It is really a problem when accessing via iPhone even with my glasses on. Recommend: 1. The color of document names can be customized at will 2. The font size/ icon of document name can be customized or enlarged 3. The document name can be searched within the app and via iPhone/iPad/Mac search function. 4. The above improvement need to be incorporated in "Numbers" too

  I'll be honest Pages for iOS is very well laid out and functional. I love that they added docx export. But I really hate the orange color palette and wish they would switch it with Keynote's. Other suggestions would be an option to toggle off the extended keyboard.

  I had the same problem until I noticed some other Apps giving me a problem. I have an IPhone 4S through Verizon. I hadn't turned off my phone in some time. When I rebooted (turned off and then turned on) my phone my Pages documents all returned or reloaded and my on-line banking and my CamScanner App all appear to work now. The Verizon rep told me she turns off, then turns on her phone once a week. Try this.

  I use pages to take note in my classes, and it works great. BUT sometime my professors are drawing important images that I can't copy down on my notes. I wish there was a way to switch from typing to manual drawing.

• Create Folders

  One thing I like about Notability over Pages is that you can organize your files into different folders and I don't see that option on here. It would make it so much easier if maybe we could add this option.

• Seriously Frustrated

  I absolutely loved pages. I've been using it since the 1st gen iPad. I recently bought an iPad Air, and everything was just fine for a while. However, about a week ago the app started acting wonky. I am effectively unable to type anymore. Every other letter I hit is not registered, rendering the app useless. I have not encountered this in any other app. I've closed and reopened the app, I've rebooted the Air several times all to no avail. I would love for this to be a 5 star app again. Please help Apple.

  Continuing to have problems. The app opens to a black sceen then freezes and then closes. Rebooting iPad, restoring iPad, reloading app does not work. Previous version was great. Will have to go back to microsoft. This is the first time I have had an experience with Apple that reminded me of Microsoft. Very disappointed. Researching Google Drive reveals the exact same problem with their latest upgrade. Are these made by the same people? Hopefully a further upgrade of the app will work better. In the meantime, I no longer have access to my office files on my app or remotely since I cannot add anything new to the app. Looking forward to a resolution. Will have to abandon this app for now. Good thing I have a paper backup of everything.

  I bought this app to be able to write papers for class. It is lacking so many functions. I can't even make the first page have a different header than the rest of the document. Very disappointed, Apple.

  I loved using pages, but today I was on then I went to another app and when I came back, it had deleted all my documents, but said they were stored in the "iCloud" I know that there is a way to figure this out, but I am getting frustrated. I wish I could use pages normally again, I loved it and used it a loot. Plz help if u can. That would be appreciated.

• Sometimes changes is not always better

  (Update: I have to add to this review because I can't write a new one. The lasted up date made pages worse. Now it crashes, freezes takes a long time to open. MS is not winning because it is a better processor, it's winning because apple is helping them, or not helping themselves, however you want to look at it.) first I would like to thank apple for me having to break out my old pc that i haven't used in almost two years just so i could open some important documents. Thanks for the experience of going backwards, i'm ok now. What I have found on both my i pad and mac was with the latest update to pages it removed several fonts. I had some files back to word and that's what helped me from having to go back to the drawing board to redo files that I spent several hour creating in the first place. When I checked on other documents especially ones that originated as a word document I found it also missing certain fonts. I found a cumbersome way of retrieving some documents with the missing fonts. If you work in a place or still have access to with PC's send the document to yourself. open it in word and change the information that was missing in your document to a font that pages will recognize. Then resend it back to yourself and open it in pages. I know it sound cruel and painful, but it better than trying to recreate documents. I just happen to save my documents in word format because not everyone has an apple computer but still need the same information. something to think about hope this helps. oh and come on apple. make the experience of using pages worth while again.

• iMac Compatibility

  One of the principal reasons I bought the iPad was to enable me to write "on-the-road" and transfer the updates to my iMac. This worked fine until the latest update by e mailing the document back and forth. Now gmail interprets the new .zip format as a security risk and the email is rejected. Other than working via the cloud Apple has not solved the problem. As another reviewer noted the old Pages is not compatible with the new Pages. I constantly get messages re: updating. Luckily I have been afraid I would lose years of work if I went into the death loop. I still do not know how to convert Pages 4.0 to 5.0. The final insult is when I tried to open Pages (on the iPad) and the list of features appeared telling me how great Pages is. The only trouble was the message could not be closed (the "continue" button didn't work). Apple took a great product and has messed it up royally

  For the second time in the three years I have used this app, I have lost all my files after an update. I open it up and it is like I never used it before. I can never trust my files in pages again. This is very frustrating from a full time apple user ipad/phone/MacBook Pro.

  Key delays, fewer template choices... I was hoping to use this app to make newsletters on the road, but I have one template choice and typing in this app is frustrating! Any way there could be a template package available, as an in-app purchase? I love the template choices in the desktop version... Why can't they be included in the ipad app???

  I used to think that Pages was an excellent basic word processing app with just a few short comings here and there but since I took that awful OS7 upgrade there are more things going wrong than right. - lost information,jamming, and can't down load several documents. I once thought that Apple stood for Quality but I could be forced to buy another Brand. Yep' Jobs is gone'

• Won't update reliably with iCloud

  The app does not download files from iCloud reliably. I have followed all of apples steps to fix the issue and it still does not work. This app is worthless if Apple can not fix the cloud issues.

  I don't understand why I can't search for words in my documents in the app? I store all my recipes here, and it would be great to search all of pages for something like 'chocolate' so I can see all chocolate recipes. Grrrr. I want chocolate.

  Pages has been my only app for creating proposals and invoices for my small business. Now documents I create on my Mac, look different on the iPad pages app. It moves paragraphs around and removes sentences. Cannot make alterations out of fear of not knowing what the client will end up seeing.

  I am a college student, and pages on my iPad is how I take notes for all my classes. When I updated the app, I lost all of my documents the were saved on the device and not on my cloud yet. I had an exam review I was working on and updated while at lunch. I did not save to the cloud yet and when I came back, all gone! Just be aware and backup what you want before updating.

  Why doesn't Apple have anything that will make a list and put it in ABC order? I was making a form for my parents to sign and tried to put a line after name and date and the lines just went all over the page! Very time-consuming to use.

  Ive owned and loved this app since the beginning. Its great for college because i take notes in class and write all my papers with it! I would suggest this for anyone in college. The only things they should improve on is folders within folders. I just finished my first semester of college and don't wanna delete all of my papers from my classes so id like to put all the papers from my semester into a giant folder, but i cant because i cannot do a folder within a folder. Pages sgould definitely add this highly needed feature

• Crashing

  I love Pages but latest update crashes upon launch for me. Please fix. Update 2014: still crashing. Apple contacted me and I gave them the info they needed, but almost 2 months after initial contact, still no fix. And it seems many others are having the same issue. Why does Apple not downgrade to previous version until they fix this. Extremely annoying and interfering with my workflow. Update 2/14: Finally fixed. Connection to iCloud working now.

  My church is using the first generation IPad where I take all of the board minutes, etc. My newer personal IPad is synced so I can prepare the Agenda and meeting templates then as I take the minutes during the meeting it updates my personal IPad. Well no more! With the upgrade now the church IPad can't open the documents created on my personal IPad. This just destroyed the convenience of having Pages!

  Compatibility with Word files may have improved but I've no way to know since every document I send as a word.docx file there's nothing on the page. Come on Apple you can do better. I'm ready for a seance to resurrect Jobs. Google Docs works without much trouble and I can easily share basic documents from there. HINT!!

  Pages is, in my opinion, THE word processor for iOS devices. I love it on my iPad, I love in my iPhone. It's simply brilliant! I have just one complaint. I love how the text formatting functions (bold/italics/underlines, font and font size, alignment, etc) are right on top of the keyboard on the iPad. It makes for very easy input! But on the iPhone? Not so much. It feels clumsy and cumbersome. If you could fix that, Apple, it would make a beautiful app just that much more beautiful. Thanks!

• Email a doc with pages

  In addition to my last review and identified issues, I now realized that when emailing a word document from pages an extra white page is added in the document that should not be there. For example a two page doc becomes three with an extra white page in the middle of the two written ones. I have only tried to email a two page doc. The insertion of the white page most likely occurred during the conversion from pages to word.

  As a meteorologist I find it absolutely important to make clear and crisp forecasts. Which with this app I can do, BUT can't post it directly from this app. Please, if you can, add a Facebook share button or tab. This will greatly help.

• No mail/form merge

  How can Apple claim that this is competitive with WORD? They took out the merge function. Everything else about the update seems quite strong, but without such an ability it’s useless to me. Unfortunately I have to go back to Microsoft Office.

  I've used previous versions of this and in fact have written a 120k word book with pages. This latest version is total junk. I've lost so much work. It's buggy, slow and hangs up. Too bad. Looking for something else now.

• Another innocent victim of IOS 7

  So disappointed over what has become of what was once one of the most invaluable apps out there. I know a lot of apps have fallen victim to the IOS 7, but pages has been hit especially hard. Not only does it consistently crash, but the overall performance has declined. It seems as though the most fatal crashes occur when I attempt to highlight sections of text. In these cases, even after a complete reboot of my phone, it remains frozen where it had been until it's good and ready to unfreeze itself. I give if 3 stars simply because of how invaluable of an app it has been prior to the update and the hope that the problems can be rectified in the near future.

  The most recent update for Pages has made my brand new iPad Air (32GB) terrible! The app is super slow to load up, when I select text it freezes completely. Opening and closing the app does nothing, I have to completely kill the app (which by the way deletes all that I just typed). I loved this app when I first got it pre loaded on my iPad. Now I am almost hating my iPad because of this! I have bought numerous Apple products over the years, including: iPhone 4, iPhone 5, Mac Book Pro Solid State, and now my iPad Air. Now, my second most expensive Apple product won't do what I need it to do, what I bought it to do, which is to take notes! This update is complete junk!

  I've done many A english papers on this app. Its easy to work with. Unlike other reviews mine DOESNT crash. I love this app. I recommend it if you're looking for a typing app, especially if you have a wifi printer.

• LACK OF CONTRAST CARRY MAGNIFYING GLASS!

  I am increasingly dissatisfied with iOS 7. If I have to use a magnifying glass to read folder names you've done a great job of dissing my 60+ year old eyes. Shame on you! I've increased contrast and text size, made text bold and will still have to rename folders IN ALL CAPS. I used to be able to see previews of documents without opening every possible folder. Now all I see are folders full of orange checks. I hate it--and orange is one of my favorite colors. 1/30/14 The app freezes when I open it. Additionally, I want to be able to group files within a file. There is NO SEARCH FUNCTION?!

  I use pages everyday, I'm a teacher. Ever since the update it now closes a minute or so after opening it! I am so frustrated and angry. Why is it that you guys to try fix a perfect app and then completely ruin it. It's not like this was a cheap app either, I want my $10 back!

  I'm a writer. I spent two days on an old document and then my Mac desktop informed me "it's time to upgrade to the new Pages!". Which I did. And it promptly lost it. After an hour with Apple Support, the words that you never want to hear are: "To be honest, we've seen a lot of issues, but we've never seen that one before. I'm taking this to the engineers today." An hour later, my first trip to a store that specializes in data recovery informed me my two days of work is trapped in what he so poignantly described as a "death loop". I've used Apple products since 1995 but thinking it's time to transition to something more reliable than death loops.

  When you are in "note taking" form and want to exit it, you should just be able to double-tap the enter key or use the tab left key. Or, so you would think. It glitches and creates several bullet points instead of canceling them. Please fix this. Also, it's really frustrating that it crashes.

  I used to use Pages for all of my word processing, but until Apple resolves the glitches in the most recent release, I'll have to use a different app. As soon as I highlight text, the app freezes, remaining unresponsive for a minute or so. As it is right now, this app is an incredible waste of time.

• Cannot Disable Auto Lists

  Pages was great until this last update. Apple apparently decided to make automatic lists impossible to turn off. I've selected the "None" option for bulleted lists but I still get auto listing. I would not need to bother but the bullets do not translate into all forums. I made a bulleted list and tried to paste it into a forum and none of the bullets carried over. So I then tried to turn off auto lists and manually bullet the list with dashes. NOPE! The auto list kicks in EVERY TIME. I hope I am merely overlooking something but I thought Apple apps were supposed to be intuitive and easy to use. This is unbelievably frustrating.

• Wishing for folders to separate documents

  I use this app frequently. It's a great way to get work done away from the computer. But I'd like to be able to separate documents into folders for easier search. Also, I've tried to create documents with pictures for work that I need to email to my boss, and the documents with pictures never send. It would be nice if those would send. I have a hard time giving this app less than four stars in spite of those things. It has been a life saver.

  I like most of the features however ever since the most recent upgrade Pages and Numbers has a problem with my Air Printer. I have to turn off and back on my iPad and then reopen the App to get it to find the printer. This is every time I leave the App. It is just a pain.

  This app has numerous technical problems, but the biggest is that it simply lags behind a few seconds when typing. Which can be worked around, until Pages start modifying documents on its own and rendering them illegible. I've always disliked pages, but now I can't even stand it.

  Version 2.1 STILL LAGS!! iOS 7 update (version 2.0) made the app lag a lot when running on iPad 2, which was really annoying. Felt like it wasn't tested. Updating to version 2.0.1 reduced the lag, but didn't solve it. It specially lags when selecting text and when formatting it. I own an iPad 2, it's updated to the last iOS, and I use an Apple bluetooth keyboard; my documents usually have more than 50 pages. iOS version of Pages still hasn't got paragraph spacing, a (simple) feature present at Pages for iCloud beta. Users can't create their own templates, or edit/create paragraph styles or summaries. Users can only search for text terms within a specific document. There's no way for users to search for text inside of any file. Pages is probably the best mobile word processor out there, indeed, but could definitely get improved. I'd give it three stars if it wasn't for the lag issue.

  I have loved Pages. I have loved creating docs on my iPad or on my MacBook and finding them in both places through iCloud. And I generally find that the app is easy to use and it does all I need it to do. Until now. Clearly we are going through some serious growing pains, Apple. Pages is now slow (to open and respond to most every command). It is quirky and periodically it just closes. All of that is bad enough for me to give it 2 stars. It would get only one if I didn't used to like it so much. But now, what's with this "can't open a document until you update..." (either Pages or my operating system software) Seriously? I would just like to look at, maybe edit, one of my documents. But no, I must update AGAIN. And I can't right now. Do you have any idea how slow the internet becomes when snow just keeps falling outside and the winds are 30 mph? Do you have any idea how impossible it becomes to download an update when the internet slows so? Wish I could work on Pages....

  Great app, but I'm curious if a future update might allow for the pages app for iPad and iPhone/iPod have and use all fonts that the computer has download as well as the defaults. I'm not sure if anyone else shares the same thought.

  I love pages and am an everything apple fan! They fixed it!!! Now I whatever I do on one of my devices becomes available to them all. No matter what I pick up I'm ready.

  New Update: Pages is still a buggy mess that worries me with instability. Comments aren't showing correctly when using tables it seems, and export and import options still a problem. It seems Apple has lost any sense of quality control in the past years since losing Steve Jobs. Buggy apps and poor choices. Update: While adding several new features, most don't even become relevant as the app crashes, freezes, and loses your important documents. I am wondering if Apple ever tests their products any more due to such buggy and irresponsible releases. Many basic save and syncing features simple don't work. I can't even send a back up of my documents that are threatened to be lost due to such poor "Apple level of low quality" so-called support and care. Can't wait for a real word processor to be released for the iPad, but I question staying with Apple due to such low quality. For shame Apple. ----- Really poor quality considering this is by Apple. No excuse for the shear amount of crashes and bugs, and even worse is when your documents randomly disappear or get corrupted due to poor cloud technology. Tech support doesn't even know how to recover them at times. Now with the iOS update, the documents don't sync correctly or reliably. If you attempt to contact Apple, their chat site doesn't even work on their own Apple product! Waiting for a real word processing app to be made. This is a sad temporary fix. Absolutely no excuse for such a horrible application. Get your act together Apple!

  This update is almost the same except for a major problem--you can't drag the highlighter bar to include more than the one word you originally highlighted!! Also you can't use the hold down and drag maneuver to place the mouse where you would like it to be on the page. I hope this is only a temporary glitch and one that will soon be resolved because it is very inconvenient and annoying when trying to use pages. Also you can't change the spacing of the document. It's either single spacing or nothing. Very disappointed in Apple for this one.

• Missing two basic features

  Please allow adjustment of space between footnotes--it would be a simple addition (pages on the Mac has it) and the standard spacing in new documents is absurdly large. Also, it would be nice if you could find a way to edit headings so that ePub published would have appropriate tables of contents and chapter headings... As it it right now, the ePubs published from documents crafted on the app include a meaningless table of contents with the entire paper as Chapter 1. The feature that makes the first page the cover is also broken in that when you do that, the text for that page does not appear in the book's body. I will update my score when these issues are addressed.

• Can't open any Pages docs

  Since I updated to 2.1 I can't open any docs. I've shut down and restarted the iPad, checked the OS, made sure the update was complete, nothing. I just had to go back and find a doc in Word on my PC that I had put on Pages so I could find it. This is progress? I just hope I can get some chat room advice, since I certainly won't pay Apple for a fix.

• Needs more

  I like Pages for personal print work, but way too many issues with compatibility to use for work projects (a Windows and Word environment). Another HUGE oversight is the lack of the "Save As" function (easily one of the most important commands that I use). I tried to figure out a workaround, but lost a lot of projects and work in the process. Apple used to have Save As and I don't know why they dropped it. A monumental mistake.

  I've been using Pages for a long time, and this latest update makes things so much easier for me as a student. The tab button is an absolute godsend!!!!! However, when I send my normal (not password protected) documents to iTunes as Word files, they come out the other side as .docx files, and when I open them, they are always blank......... :/ Great app otherwise, but until this is fixed, 4 stars.

  Still significant lag after the latest update. From the time I start the app to the time I can start writing I count 40 seconds--and with no indication of when it's done syncing with iCloud (or whatever it's doing those 40 seconds). I just keep pressing the screen until the app responds to let me know its ready for me to edit my doc. And whenever I switch between apps (which I frequently do when writing), returning to Pages requires I wait again while it refreshes. Paid $10 for this 2 years ago and used it regularly until these changes. Looking for alternatives.

  I don't write reviews. I'm writing this as I am once again waiting interminably for Pages to update all of my documents now that a new version has downloaded. It is the only word processing program on my Ipad that does this each time an update occurs, and they occur often as Apple seems incapable of coming up with a functioning WP program for its own IOS. Pathetic.

  I have been using this app for almost almost 2 year now. It is very user friendly, has lots to offer. Would be nice to be able to do spread sheets, and open PDF files with this app. I have not found a better app yet for my documents.

  I update this and post it again. You've updated it but still haven't addressed this. When will this be addressed?? You had a way to search both the titles of the documents and the words within the documents. I have a cheaper app that does this and it's something I would expect in an app I paid $9.99 for. Please make this similar to what you can do on a computer...searching all document titles and the words within the documents. There are times when I can't remember where I put information and searching by a word if very helpful. Please help me change this review to 5 stars.

  Thanks for taking the time to fix this Apple. For people on the go that needs quick access to files and the portability of utilization on the cross section of their smart devices Pages is great. The bug access of docs on the cloud appears to be fixed!
