App now stutters and freezes during page animations, new update ruined my experience on my iPod touch 5th generation.
Enjoy the Kindle App immensely. It doesn't get much better then this for those of us who love to read.
Love the Kindle App. Very easy to use.
Very good app for the people who love to read and love the convenience of books on their device. I do find it hard to delete books that I've already read or that I don't want. This could be improved upon. Thanks.
Having the ability to read an entire book on a phone is so much easier than having to carry a book around.
Very nice app. Does exactly as advertised. Be forewarned it does not cook breakfast or do laundry. If used correctly it can prevent papers from flying away in mildly windy situations.
!
Best app ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Solid app that doesn't crash and let's me read. Some readers are so fancy they distract from reading, this one doesn't. Good options and features but not too bulky. I love being able to share quotes on twitter.
The update is fixed and it works great!
The best thing ever in the web if you like reading!!! Thanks!!
No matter how much I enjoy this app and thousands of kindle books so far, one little thing that really bugs me is that there are too few colors for annotation. And they are not beautiful, comparing to colors from other apps in the market (like iBook or Adobe PDF). I don't know if you guys can fix this but that would be totally awesome. Overall, I really love the app. It has sleek UI, fast processing and very useful dictionary. It has came this far.. 98% !!!! So, could you please consider the colors option? Thank you so much.
Great for obtaining and reading books.
Love this app. I use it everyday. I purchased the prime membership..unfortunate it isn't valid for apple devices.
I like the new update but I'd at least like the option to see page numbers in the view screen if not all the time.
I've had a Kindle DX since they were first available and love it, but the Kindle app on my iPad is far superior. I have had absolutely no problems with it. The only improvement would be to make it easier to download books directly to the iPad instead of downloading to the Kindle, then downloading from the cloud.
Particularly like how Ivan go from iPhone ipad and it syncs. I also like how it figures out your reading speed and tells you how much time you have left to finish chpt and book.
Feb 11 2014 update: sync problem seems to be mostly fixed. STILL no library management feature, which is a drag Some problems w/cross-dev ice sync?', no way 2 organize library, can't borrow frm owners library, otherwise, it's ok
Awesome!!
This is by far the most used app on my phone, I love it!
Can't even get it to load
I have plenty of books on my kindle and can only download book samples on my iPhone app, I will be selling my kindle and staying with apple, thanks for nothing!!!!!
The newest version will not stay open for longer than 20 seconds. All other versions worked great. Is very frustrating right now. Please repair ASAP!
I have no problem with this ap I love reading!!
When I'm out and about without my Kindle and I have a few minutes to spare, I always use this app. I love how it syncs up with the location and book I'm reading. Can't recommend it enough.
REALLY wish I could click on a book and see the synopsis. Would like to be able to archive books also. Other than that, great app.
I think my husband likes my Kindle more than I do - no more piles of books laying around the house!
I never have a problem. Downloads quickly!
I read all the time and I love that I can sync each book with my kindle and the app
Updated: the kindle app is worse than before and the worst one I used to reading ebook in my iPhone and iPad. The kindle guy is too arrogant to listen end user's feedback. After several update, this app has no us full feature introduced, but made some old feature worst, such as very bad definition display, no copy/paste, always sync up to the most further location (not latest), no gesture support, no multi account support. Can you fix some real issue? In some cases, the definition of English to Chinese definition can not be displayed. It happened on iPhone landscape model and iPad (both portrait and landscape model) Please fix this bug.
I've become a reading junky. It is so great to be able to pick up one of my devices and jump right into the same book!
I have a Kindle Paperwhite and love it. I usually read at night in bed. During the day, however, I'm usually on the go. Having the app on my iPhone makes continued reading very convenient. Love the whisper sync so I don't lose my place when switching back and forth. Have had no problems at all - 2 years of the app and 6 months of the Paperwhite.
I use it on the iPhone 5 but I also have a kindle. Works great for me except even on the phone you need wifi to download a book not 4G.
Simple to use, good readability on an iPhone 5, extensive selection of books at cheap prices. I've stopped buying paperbacks for the past 3 years.
This is a great app. Works well and is easy to navigate to and within your content. This is second only to my actual Kindle device.
Great assortment of books at a reasonable price, no shipping and handling charges and all the genres I enjoy.
It would be great if I could organize the books and see a short synopsis.
Solid app. Would be 5 stars, 10/10 if it had a highlighting feature. It has a notecard feature, but no highlighting. This is immensely troublesome, especially for those who utilize e-textbooks.
It works, what more needs said.
The update said it fixes stability issues. I wasn't having any issues until this latest update. It no longer stays on the page I left off at. It either goes backwards or forward 10-20 pages so I have to hunt to find where I left off.
I'm a huge reader and use this app almost every day. It's convenient, intuitive and has the functionality I need to read. Never had a complaint, highly recommended.
Does what it says. One tap purchase on my Kindle sends books to my iPhone immediately. Bookmarks keep up most of the time. Great app for an avid reader.
If you are a reclining reader, to keep the screen from following the phone rotation, you can tap the page in LOWER RIGHT CORNER, a lock appears tap again it will appear as "unlocked." Tap for the choice you want, the best reading choice, then Lock it so it doesn't bounce back and forth between portrait/landscape view.
This app has been very reliable and easy to use.
I love kindle. It works great and I'm always on it. One suggestion would be to allow pursuing of books through the app. I can search books, but have to open up an internet browser to make the purchase. Then it would be perfect!
Usually use it to read rather then my outdated kindle.
Love my kindle app!!!! It's great....
Wish you could download books from the app.
Great app! No problems at all! Download the app. Can go from reading kindle to iPhone. Wonderful!
I am totally addicted to this ap. since u hit it I've only read two real books. Every other book I've read has been on thus Ap.
It's easy to read books on this app anytime anywhere. I also love how easy it is to look up words or google a phrase or translation simply by highlighting what you want to look up. It does drain the battery if used for too long though. Overall I would say this is a good app. I've used it for years without any complaints.
I absolutely love the Kindle App! I use it at work on my breaks & when I don't have my KindleFire w/ me! Lots of features overlap w/ what Kindle offers! I recommend it to any book lover!
I love this app! I have it on my IPad also and it syncs my position in my book between the two.
It would be perfect if you could copy and paste from books. Going to website to copy and paste is a hassle.
I love having Kindle on my iPhone. It's convenient to read my books in any location. So far, the app has been 100% reliable. I highly recommend it.
Great app
Great app! Love the ability to read so many books without filling up my home and especially love the fact it is much cheaper than the physical books.
Personally, I have owned multiple kindles. However, when I got an iPad, I stopped using my kindle. I liked the lit back screen and the ease of use. I do miss my international 3G, which allowed me to buy books anywhere, but even still this app is pretty good.
Most of my casual reading I do on my Kindle Keyboard because I really like the look of the e-ink as it's easier on the eyes in low light, and it's about 9000x lighter than my iPad when I'm laying in bed...or at least seems it when I fall asleep and drop it on my face. As a textbook reader, though, the Kindle app on iPad is just OK. Here's a rundown: PROS: • Page thumbnail viewer. Helps scroll back and forth between pages and chapters really excellently. Although it would be nice to be able to toggle it instead of it always being active and having it cover my screen if I accidentally tap on the page. • Annotation / Notepad feature is actually pretty cool. • Flash cards. Kinda works like the annotations only you can make key words flash cards and see ones other people have created. Kinda cool if you need that sorta thing. CONS: • The last version seems a little buggy when you highlight a passage—sometimes I have to tap on the passage a couple times before the highlight menu pops up. • The Dictionary box that pops up when you tap on a word IS FRIGGING HUGE. Geeze, guys, can't you reduce the size of that thing at all? At least have the ability to turn it off. • Margins are way too wide for textbooks, and text can only be blown up by the "close-up" hand gesture (whatever they call the opposite of "pinching"). Although since this is a textbook, the text size it understandable but it would be nice if the magnification stayed the same when you turned a page. Just blue-sky dreaming here. Mostly that Dictionary dialogue box is my main beef with the textbook viewer. The Kindle app for textbooks is FATHOMS better than it used to be when it first became available, but still needs a little tweaking.
It's an awesome app. The only thing I wish would change is that you can't delete books off of cloud or your device.
I enjoy my Kindle but I wish I could delete the books I have read if I wanted to.
Best way to read books.
Great.
I've already read a couple books on it and had no problems.
I love this app! Everything works wonderfully and I've never had any problems! I enjoy being able to switch from multiple devices without worry. Kindle keeps up for me so I am always right where I left off!
Loving my collections
Good
I do not have the actual kindle, just the app for my iPad so it may be just an app issue. I wish I could archive my read books to streamline my choices. And when I put a book in a collection I would like it to drop off the main library (or have the option to do that). Otherwise I love kindle.
With the new update, the app either doesn't open at all, and then crashes. Or, it takes forever to open, and then crashes. Please fix this.
Good
Reading speed still isn't fixed! Otherwise no issues with app!
I love kindle app on my iPhone but I hate that I can't download samples or purchase from the iPhone kindle app like I use to. It's very disappointing. I like that capability and miss it a lot. 3 words.....,,BRING IT BACK. I think I use to purchase more just because of that capability. :-)
After update today the icon does not appear to be Kindle and will not open. Only way in is from update page. Not good hope it gets fixed have a lot of books to read.
When launched a spinner appears hiding the page view and it's never removed. You have to quit app and launch again to read your book until it happens again--every time you exit and return to app. Makes reading anything next to impossible. Hoped this new version would fix this bug, as it just started with previous version.
Looks good, but can't find log-off from my account. Am I missing something?
I just bought a book for my class and this thing doesn't even have real page numbers. How am I supposed to follow my syllabus?! Frustrated
This is an excellent app for an ebook reader. It does almost everything my "real" kindle does and is very convenient. In fact, I like the page turn option better on the iPhone version. I would suggest an option to remove all bookmarks. This would make it easier to switch from device to device and much easier for those of us who read books multiple times without having to navigate through the book to find where we actually are this go round.

Great app, reading a lot more on it now, I just wish it was easier to purchase more kindle books within the app. Is this not possible? If it is, it's extremely difficult to find that option. If it's not available within the app, why the heck not? :)
Downloaded 4.1.2 today and downloaded my first book. Could not buy from iPhone and had to complete the transaction from the Web browser. Once purchased, the book would not properly load and is completely unreadable on both my iPhone 5s and iPadAir. Not sure if it is bugs in the app or corruption in the book. The pop-up errors on my device state that an error occured and I should remove the book from my device and download again from the cloud. If that doesn't work deregister the app and register. Neither worked on either device. I even tried deleting the app and reinstalling. The concept is simple but Amzon can't seem to present set of pictures and text in a linear fashion so that the pages can be read. I will get blank pages and a spinner most often. The app will decide to jump to the middle of the book and not allow you to go to next or previous page. Very frustrating. The book in questions is "Scrum: A breathtakingly brief and agile introduction".
Why is there no option for anything except full justification. On larger. text settings this leaves huge ugly gaps that are distracting. Makes the iBooks app so much more appealing. This one thing makes the app almost unusable. See?
In the last two updates , the bookmark doesn't appear on the page when page animation is on. Have to turn page animation off to be able to see it.
I don't know why, but I really hope this app could support multiple accounts. Other than that, this app meets the basic standards for a reading app.
This is the one I use most for books.
The clean and snappy interface makes this a great way to read books. I love the Collections feature, which makes it easier to organize my growing library. The only thing I wish is that they would sync to the Mac version of the app, which currently is quite inferior to this one. The iPhone app as it stands is absolutely great though.
I love this app. I use if all of the time. I have only one complaint. On the kindle device, it will read your book to you. On the app, it doesn't read to you. Please add this feature.
Works great and love to read on the iPhone!
I would give this a better rating but it is unresponsive or slow to respond on my mini. I have decided to go back to iBook.
got the kindle app in order to read and view my college textbooks on my iPhone. however, I am unable to sync or download the texts. unsure if it is the app or publishers fault; regardless I am annoyed and upset about it.
I use kindle across 3 devices, and it's awesome. I'm thrilled that iBook is pushing kindle to be more competitive. The kindle app is designed for readers and still beats iBook hands down. Although, honestly, the iPad is not good hardware for reading. Get a kindle for most of your reading and then, you use the iPhone/iPad app when reading books with pictures or your kindle isn't available. I always have my whole library of digital books with me wherever I go. Awesome
good
Love this app. Always reading but Since the last update, the last page read doesn't sync. So every time I put my iPad down I have to try and find my spot again when I come back to it. Having to remember page numbers or location numbers is difficult. Hope they can fix this.
Pathetic. Offers a bunch of samples but nothing you can actually buy thru the app. I guess they want you to buy the kindle device.
Love the app but it seems that all the updates since ios7 came out have been downgrades, this last update made it to where I have no visible book mark so if I want to go back a few pages and re-read something then go back to my spot I have to search for it, the last downgrade took away the ability to go directly back to your bookmark from the table of contents, now it's getting ridiculous maybe it's time to go back to real books and stop with this hassle.
How about a choice of fonts on the iPad or droid for those of us who struggle to read, need a larger font, but want that font to be more clear?
My collections are not currently syncing, but the the app still works well otherwise. The tech support was great and responsive to my concerns.
Am I the only one who has to CONSTANTLY re-enter my email and password to use this app?! If I switch to another app or put the ipad down for a few minutes, I have to re-enter my credentials again! This really overshadows an otherwise nice application.
Kindle offers so many books - anything type of novel you want. Their books are very inexpensive and even downright cheap, in any topic you wish to read. Kindle is my new best friend, on my IPad, kindle Fire, and I phone. If I' m at the doctor, having car repairs completed or waiting or waiting on one of my family or friends I always have a good read with me. I would be lost without Kindle!
Love the app; hate the constant demand to turn on location services every time I start it up. Kindle, where I am has nothing to do with what I read. Might be time to find another reading app.
The fact that there's no option to scroll vertically, in a continuous page, makes transitioning between iBooks and the Kindle app difficult for those of us who have made the switch.
