About the Book
Dawn Blossoms Plucked at Dusk is known as one of Lu Xun's most representative collection of essays, which collected the author's 10 memoir style essays written in 1926. This book also keeps a detailed and complete record of Lu Xun's life and experiences from his childhood to youth, and gives a vivid description of people's life from the late Qing Dynasty to the early Republican China. Dawn Blossoms Plucked at Dusk considered as an important piece of literature for studying Lu Xun's early thoughts and the culture of that age.
About the Author
Lu Xun was the pen name of Zhou Shuren (1881–1936) and he also had Yucai as his adult courtesy name. Lu was a native of Shaoxing, Zhejiang. He is one of the greatest writers, thinkers, and revolutionists in modern Chinese literature. He is also considered the backbone of the May 4th Movement. His representative works are: A Madman's Diary (colloquial fiction), The True Story of Ah Q (novella), Dawn Blossoms Plucked at Dusk (collected essays of recollections), Call to Arms and Wandering (a collection of short stories).
