I love being able to read the magazine on my iPhone even when I don't have an internet connection. And it's always a great read!
Great App! Once I figured out how to navigate, it was super easy!
Finally got to work and downloaded all my paid issues. Like reading in bed and this makes it easier.
I'm so pleased with how easy it is to browse content, especially with the categorization by estimated read time. Truly interactive and further testimony that VF values quality content and design.
Based on my somewhat limited experience, this ap works just as it should. No issues or bugs that others have noted.
I love the iPad app and have recently fallen for the iPhone app. It makes the magazine uber portable. My only suggestions are to allow all articles to be shared and to add Pinterest to the sharing options.
As a professional photographer I was floored by how the cover text was cleared from the cover image when rotated to the horizontal orientation. Nice touch VF...
This app is great for traveling, I can leave all of my heavy magazines home.
This app is so well done. It is easy to download, easy to work with and easy to use. Vanity Fair got it right and sets the bar high for other magazines. And now I must get back and read about Amy Adams.
Easy to navigate. Easy to read, even on an iPhone. Love the way they've organized the content by length of time to read it!
Vanity fair is my favorite magazine and the app does it justice.
No complaints. Download is quick, considering the large file; display is first rate. The occasional back issues from VFs first iteration are a realbtreat!
All the lovely writing of the magazines at your fingertips. I vowed never ti like iPad reading. I was sadly mistaken. This means in easy, the pictures and other formatting are assessable. The finding of new stories easy with displays of further stories that capture ones interest. That's my favorite part of his design.......ones curiosity is engaged by this design format.
I was hesitant to subscribe because so many of my favored magazines online apps are awful. Vanity Fair has done a great job! Incredibly use friendly and I couldn't be more grateful to have a most favorite magazine ready be read with such convenience.
Easy and aesthetically appealing.
Easier to read than the printed version - and best of all: you don't have to go through all the tedious ads to get to the reading material!
This should quickly become the gold standard of magazine apps! They have thought of everything. The table of contents is fantastic. I love that they give you approximate reading times, so you know what you can squeeze in while you're on the go. I read Vanity Fair more on my iPhone now than I do on my iPad or the print copy. It's quick, easy and convenient. I wish I could give it more stars! (Now, I'm going back to reading my Vanity Fair on my iPhone.)
Otherwise, this is an excellent app.
It can be somewhat slow, mostly choking on certain transitions to/from ad placements, but I continue to be impressed by the design/layout. One of the best looking adaptations on the market. Hope Conde maintains support for "old" hardware.
Unfortunately, when I click on the cloud button nothing happens. And when I click on the download button I just sends me to my library where I, again, have to repeatedly click on the cloud button or the magazine covers... neither of which does anything. The app looks great, but when I have no access to content, it's not worth much.
Like everyone else, my Vanity Fair app disappears in 10 seconds or so. This week it kept sending me back to an article on Amy Adams that I tried to read last month but couldn't because I kept losing it, What's up? Funny -- this rating survey stayed up.....
As someone else noted this app is horribly buggy. When it works it's ok but I keep getting booted with "authentication error" messages. I've reset my password numerous times so I know login credentials are correct. A few emails to customer support have gone unanswered for weeks. Get it together Vanity Fair! It's no wonder print media is dying. They're stuck in the Stone Age.
Cannot get. So much more difficult to navigate than any other magazine that I subscribe to. Then I ask for help and that's even more so. After I struggle to complete it won't let me submit! Make it easier!! After all, we're not trying to retrieve government secrets!
App won't let me purchase any other editions! Frustrating!
Impossible to sign in to. They don't recognize your name, your subscription number, nothing. And no help, either. So the only people they aggravate is their print subscriber base. Same problem The New Yorker app had. But why would they learn from The New Yorker? Just because the 2 magazines have Conde Nast as their owner? Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. I'm deleting the app altogether. Can't bear any more of this customer-directed frustration. Other better executed diversions compete for my attention. May delete my print subscription as well.
Never know how or when the new edition is available. What is my bill? Seems available lat and easier to read from print. Will be canceling
For some reason when I picked the 'open' button, it takes me back to the selection page. Did it many times but no mags are opening still.
Can't get the screen to enter my subscription info!!! Very frustrating, avoid it.
What's the point of shiny colorful pages when the magazine will not even download. Don't they want people to read their magazine. Obviously not!
The new issue does not appear in my bookshelf to remind me to buy the latest issue. I am stuck with the old one. Then next day or week it appears . . . .
Evidently this doesn't work with iPad Air. It worked with my iPad 1 and it works with my wife's iPad Mini but it doesn't work with my iPad Air and Vanity Fair has been USELESS in trying to resolve the problem. Less than 1 star for customer service.
Unfortunately this app is still really bad. It frequently crashes and it frequently locks me out. Also, it's ridiculous that it takes up to a week to get the electronic version after receiving the print edition. Conde Nast needs to put their collective head together and make one system that works across ALL of their publications - i.e. ONE password for all accounts, one navigation system, etc.
Never recognized my login. Never received tech support requested. Don't have the time to waste on this kind of thing.
I have a subscription and am supposed to have all access. I have registered and followed all the customer support instructions and even tried to contact customer support via email with no response. at this time, I can only access old editions not the current one.
Great job VF! Great graphics and tech.
Very good app! It's nice to always have the latest edition on my iPad. And I love the links at the end of the articles. Very informative and fun to read!
Love it! Great job VF! I have been a subscriber for over 20 years. Thanks for such a great app and a great magazine. Missing Dominic. Cheers.
App works great. Gets you the content fast, easier then a magazine.
Great app for one of the great magazines of the modern era!
I love this app! I enjoy being able to read Vanity Fair whenever I want to.
Same gripe as others. I have paid subscription for decades & the app pg. shows installed, but no action & no app on screen. I cannot add my given number or address, etc. I am of the paper era, mag arrives, read it, look at photos, layouts & appreciate the true effort that editors, journalists, photographers, etc and do not have to get frustrated over apps that do not work.
Enjoy reading the magazine on the iPad.
Add background download I would give 5 stars. Rendering the tablet useless while waiting for download is pretty annoying.
Easy to access Separating by article length is a great idea
I will not be renewing my subscription as recent updates take VF back to the Stone Age- only one magazine at a time. I have a large capacity ipad as I love to bounce around between issues and my "reading list of stories from different issues". Thats the magic of the digital age, which VF is taking away from me, a PAYING customer.
love this magazine, but I am having problems downloading new issues and getting rid of old. "don't have enough room..make room for another download". what's up with that? not enough directions to figure that out. I have been without new issues for awhile. anyone?
This is how a magazine app should look, feel and behave.
The download is now even speedier and navigation is smooth and effortless. Brilliant app and brilliant mag!
Great magazine. Great app. Great iPad presentation.
They went from a great app to the worse. Takes forever to download. Constant interruptions from advertisements. This had to happen when I went to a yearly subscriptions from monthly...big mistake! Kenronr New review as of 7/23/13. Due to updates VF downloads in a matter of seconds now. In my humble opinion this is the best magazine offered. Contains the most interesting articles and pictures with the clarity of a diamond. Kenronr Having problems lately telling me I don't have enough room on my iPad. My iPad shows plenty of space. I can't figure out how to remove my last 3 years of old issues.
This app makes it possible to read it in the car, after dark. (Someone else is driving)
Now I have VF everywhere !
I do wish there was more ability to use with Pinterest.
Enjoying the app. Have had no problems.
