  • Two nitpicks:

    by Mike Freuden

First, 1.5.1 made the home screen icon very low resolution and 1.5.2 has not addressed this. Two, the enhancements added for dark themes (such as the black keyboard and darker title bars) do not work on iPad.

  • Great Client

    by gluxon

Love this IRC client. Appreciate the updates, thanks! :)

  • Thanks!

    by AmarilloBob

New update fixes the bugs with the text input. Thanks!

  • Best irc app ever.

    by iHawk!

    Works great.

  • Work nicely and support are great. Push is also fixed.

    by dcmwai

Everything I need is working. Including push.

  • Fix the timeout bug please!

    by Forrest Hammond

I love colloquy, it's all I've ever used on my Mac so I bought it for iOS. It's wonderful except for the timeout bug that makes it so no matter what setting you select for the multitasking timeout time it defaults to the stock 2 minutes

  • Works well when connected

    by longjoydivison

This was a nice update, but it doesn't follow the timeout you set in the settings. I have it set to ten and get alerts that I'm about to be disconnected after two minutes or so.

  • Update

    by GreatGeekeroni

I'd really like more themes, especially fiat like on the Mac. It makes things a lot easier to read. I'd also find more font choices helpful for my eyes. Updated review The text input got screwed up, text gets typed above input field

  • it works

    by ninja_660

Just wish it would keep the server name that was setup and saved :(

  • Good iOS 7 update

    by corsairstw

Thanks for making it compatible and love the new icon!

  • Great update!

    by DS Leadfoot

Really like the clean new look. Working great.

  • Love the new update

    by Nightshade427

    Love the new update

  • Great app

    by DBKILLN'EM

I love colloquy, I use it on my Mac as well. Can't live without it! Please bring DCC send/receive to mobile!

  • Cool new design, still some kinks...

    by Brian Zigler

I am very happy with the new icon and the new user interface! I think that the chat bubble icons next to each room looks a little dated with the new UI though. It's still as easy as ever to connect to an IRC, but I'm still having some issues... 1. I'm still getting disconnected after just 3 minutes when it is set to 10 minutes. 2. It drains my battery more quickly than a console quality game that is running under the Unreal engine. It's just kind off odd that a primarily text based app drains my battery so quickly, especially when using cellular data. 3. This is more of a request, but I wish there were chat activity sound effects. Also, the current chat sounds sound a little muffled or low quality. It'd be nice for them to get an update. Despite the issues, Colloquy is still THE BEST IRC client on Mac and iOS. The best designed, the easiest to use.

  • Love the iOS 7

    by Arfeen Khalid

The update I've bee waiting for! Makes me wanna use colloquy again, you guys did a great job!

  • Great update, but..

    by Radien

Multitasking still doesn't work, I have it set to 10 minutes and it times out after 3, but otherwise y'all did a good job.

  • Needs color and styles

    by Blackout4u8

Pretty good, wished colloquy is capable of making messages MIRC colors and also some of the styles such as bold, underlining, and perhaps italics. Otherwise, worth my money. Would highly recommend.

  • Time Limit

    by Paul Driftmier

Love the app. A great way for me to meet all sorts of people, and is a massive way to connect with furries. The only problem I have with it is the fact that you can only have the app running in the background for about 60 seconds before it logs you out or changes your nick. Very frustrating to have to open it every second to keep it running, but other than that it is amazing

  • Very useful, works smoothly

    by Bisticlz

It's nice having a feed of the channels I watch handy on a screen next to me. I only wish that the menus were a little more contextual, because sometimes it's hard to tell how deep into a settings panel you are. Also, longer multitasking lengths would be nice but I assume that has more to do with the OS than the app itself.

  • Great app, but could use more

    by DeathTone777

For example, i'd love to see a channel mode window, to see current bans and invites, be able to set modes easier. Also one thing that can be a bit annoying, colors in channel topics continue after the topic "ends" it's usually also colors the "set by nickname." at the end of topics. Other than that it's a nice app.

  • Multitask timeout broken in ios 7 ipad

    by Madelefant

I am a paid user and since ios 7 the multitask timeout is stuck at 3 minutes rendering the app useless. Mike

  • Really?

    by ...your momma

I just bought this app for my iPod because I am a regular user of mIRC on my desktop... I can hardly do anything without it crashing now. Change the background color? Nope. Crashes. Set my Away Status? Nope. Crashes. Seriously? Fix these things please. It's beautiful other than that, love that I can see the colors. Just fix the crashes.

  • Multitask timeout STILL doesn't work

    by werdq

App always times out after 3 minutes regardless of setting. This issue hasn't been fixed in ages.

  • Works, but buggy.

    by SamTheDentist

This app works well for quickly connecting to an IRC channel, but staying connected is where things kinda fall apart. Without a BNC or Bouncer (via the colloquy Mac app) you will be disconnected from your IRC 3 minutes after you close the app, regardless of the timeout chosen in settings (Multitask timeout). Using Colloquy for Mac with the bouncer service I can stay connected, but push notifications don't work reliably. The app has other features that just don't work; autocorrect, autocapitalization, and auto-scrolling with new messages. There are provisions to report bugs on the colloquy website, but tickets are routinely closed with a very limited explanation. The auto-scroll bug was closed stating it has been "resolved" in the latest unreleased beta version... Unavailable to users at present. If you need a reliable always connected IRC client I'd suggest Limechat with a BNC. For quick one time connections Colloquy is pretty average and will get the job done. I'll update this review when the next update is released, until that time I'd stay clear of Colloquy for iOS.

  • Bad bad

    by Baskim Arifi

Before the update it was fine now if i get a message on iphone 5s crashes i get disconnected u guys should fix this one asap

  • Buggy

    by Forsta

The latest release of Colloquy is supposed to be iOS7 perfected, but I've found it so far to be massively buggy. Advanced settings cannot be changed without causing a crash. Servers cannot be deleted without causing a crash. It crashes when executing some of the simplest commands. I expect they'll release a bug-squishing update to their iOS7 release soon, but until then I'm finding it unusable on my iPad Retina. Even fixed, Colloquy continues to be merely the best mediocre option amongst a host of awful iOS IRC clients. We may never see a day when IRC works well on iOS.

  • Update makes it nearly unusable

    by Hank azaria

Before the update the autocorrect basically didn't work but at least I could see what I was typing to correct it manually, but now once you get past one line of text it disappears off the bottom of the text window and makes it a really hassle to use. It's was a 3 star app, now it's gone down to 1. Not sure how it could get much worse but I guess we'll see.

  • Multitasking doesn't work

    by optize

If you exit the app, it will shut down almost instantly.

  • Stopped working since iOS 7

    by Czargar

Worked great until the new update dropped. Now I can't connect to the servers I frequent.

  • Disconnect problems

    by Appatron5000

After disconnecting app will not allow a reconnect. Also, after iOS 7 multitask timeout is 1 minute even if you set it to 10 minutes. Ideally there would be no time limit. Otherwise, good app.

  • Great when it works

    by brian.mcgroarty

This is a great app when it works, but the killer feature is push notifications and these have very rarely worked since mid 2012. If you view the support site, you will find a great many reports about this in the bug tracker, and most are closed as "fixed" without further comment.

  • Used to work with SASL...

    by Smit9352

Used to work with SASL but definitely does not anymore. Useless for me now that we've moved to freenode.

  • Disconnects when idle

    by pinycone

Great app but it disconnects when you put your phone on standby. Really annoying for others in a channel

  • Buggy

    by Kyle Horseman

Crashes when switching between channels on iOS 7.

  • Can't connect, who knows why?

    by CrookedKeel

The error reporting in this app is horrendous. If you cannot connect to a server that is all that it will tell you. No reason listed on why you can't connect, you just can't connect. Not worth the $1.99... Also finding NO support or help forums. It seems as if the developer does not care at all! Sent an email to the support email, not expecting much... DON'T PAY FOR THIS SLIMEWARE

  • doesn't work anymore..

    by boxermansr

this hasn't worked for me in the longest time, it works if I'm on wifi maybe 60-70% of the time, however when on verizons LTE it won't connect 100% of the time.

  • Ok, confusing to newbies.

    by 13333333333

I didn't have problems figuring it out but several people I've recommended this program to have struggled to set up a connection without assistance. It works nicely with ZNC / push-aware bouncer on Linux if you compile and load colloquy.so

  • Connecting problem

    by Weegee112

Yeah, I know how good this thing is. I love it. But NOW I can't even connect! I'm stuck in connection status for a long while before I'm disconnected. I've tried other servers and other clients. NOTHING is working! What's going on?!

  • Why?

    by WindCriesMary

Would be a 5 star app if it didn't disconnect prematurely or even disconnect at all. Also, I'd like to distinguish a notice from a pm. I'll get a notice thinking its a pm and the user often replies "don't you know how to /notice?"

  • Happy Switcher from LimeChat

    by DonCornelius01

I switched from LimeChat because of the better user interface in Colloquy, especially when it comes to editing my chat text from a Bluetooth keyboard. The only thing I wish Colloquy had was tab-completion of nicknames when using a Bluetooth keyboard. If the feature exists, I haven't been able to figure out how to turn it on. :| Still, you can tap on the suggested name to get nick completion, which is better than nothing.

  • Fix app!

    by smiles28540

I like the app till I couldn't sign in without wifi. Please fix! Even tried putting a ticket in and it wouldn't let me!!

  • Functionality is there, now make it pretty

    by Techboy6601

This is one of the greatest, if not the best, IRC clients for iOS. My only wish is that it was better looking. The fonts and colors don't contrast with the white background very well. If we could change those, this would be a 5 star review.

  • Randomly stops receiving messages

    by ThreeDee912

Colloquy Mobile used to work great when connected to my BNC, except now it seems to randomly stop displaying new messages in all channels until you disconnect and connect again. The weird thing is that it can still send messages fine, but you can't read if anybody replied.

  • Nice app

    by sameer singal

This irc app is pretty good. Sometimes it's alittle difficult to use but you get the hang of it after a while. I am getting a hang of the app. plus 3 dollars isn't that bad for an app.

  • More secure

    by saifulhafizi

I love this app.. if it come with pin code it would be awesome....

  • Don't update!

    by ultragirll

Ever since updating, I can't connect. Rarely can I get it to work. I should never have updated... now I can't chat with friends. PLEASE fix this!!

  • Good on iPhone, Horrible on iPad

    by Komi4

It works beautifully on my iPhone, but on my iPad, it'll refuse to connect to anything. Please fix the iPad version!

  • Terrible >:(

    by kwim1994

It won't let me connect. And then after several attempts with no response from the app whatsoever, it said I'm no longer welcome on that server because of too many connection attempts! WTH???

  • The best IRC client

    by Jamey R

I've used the desktop version of this app for years, and I've been waiting for an update to the mobile version before I bought it. The app is fantastic. Its clean interface and integration with iOS make it by far the most superior IRC app for iOS.
