Democrat and Chronicle is now on the iPad! Introducing the Democrat and Chronicle Print Edition app, where subscribers can read the Democrat and Chronicle on an iPad with all the stories, photos and ads shown just as it appears in print. Subscribers can use their current account login to access current and back issues.
Love the app, just wish it didn't require me to log-in so often.
One of the worst interfaces I've ever used.
This app has never been the best and now it just died. It only crashes now. I haven't been impressed with any of the ways to access my newspaper. I hate the digital version, the online version is alright but tough to navigate, and this print edition app has been very limited...no ability to clip and save, long page loads, frequently having to log in, everyday crashes, and now I can't access it at all, crashed on one page and continues to crash as soon as I try to reopen it. I don't know what to do about this. I don't know about anybody else, but trying to contact Gannett's customer service is a vortex you don't want to get into unless you have hours and hours of time you want to waste.
This app crashes, freezes and simply has the mind of a temperamental child. It is amazing that Gannett does not address these issues
This app should have Newsstand support.
I enjoy reading the D&C, but this app is slow and simply un-navigable. The opposite of intuitive. Horrible. I didn't subscribe exclusively to the e-edition of the D&C to see the physical paper (with all the ads and junk). I want a quick app that's easy to read & use. This must have been designed for people who are otherwise against the digital age. Learn from the NYTimes apps for iPad & iPhone.
1. This app crashes all the time on my iPad 3 2. It constantly forgets my user Id. Why? 3. App is slow rendering pages. Gannett is trying to convince customers that they've "gone digital". Not!! Fix the bugs!
Does not support printing
Slow to turn page and then load completely. Crashes frequently on page turns. Occasionally forgets I'm logged in and have to sign in again. Frequent drops of page content - blank space where text should be. Frequent areas of text that didn't load correctly leading to unreadable fuzzy image.
It worked for about a day and now it will not let me login and is useless, even after deleting and reinstalling the app. This was my review initially: This is close enough to the physical paper that it can replace delivery, at least for weekdays. It's better than the web-based tablet edition.
