Must have an account before reading the entire article/story. Easy to use interface. Local News at your fingertips.
Really needs an update! New news items do not always load. I have to reboot my phone to force the app to download updated news.
Why isn't there anyway to share an article?
This app got a little better with the new update but it still needs work... 1. Why do I need push notifications and why do you need my location? You don't offer nearly enough content to justify using these features. 2. There is still no way to comment on a story. (This is also a problem with your mobile site.) This app has tons of potential but still has a long way to go. At least it doesn't crash anymore!
I am constantly fulfilled by the content of the Kitsap Sun. Whenever I wonder about the most recent beatdown at East Bremerton nightlife, I check my favorite publication and boom, instant gratification. And now, there's an app for that. If you need to know about who won the most recent beard competition, or what building Kitsap teens burned down last weekend, just whip out your iMobile-device. I am constantly equipped with he most cuting edge stories happening in Kitsap County. A must for any Bremertonian. ... But seriously, we love it.
I was hoping over the last several months the sun would make this app available to all without paying. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. I'm deleting and getting news elsewhere.
Just like their website, this app requires a Kitsap Sun subscription to be able to read the articles.
Version 2.2.0: Don't expect to read any news stories. This is what you will read instead: "You must be a subscriber to view this story. Please log in using your Kitsap Sun account to read the full story." $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ DELETE, DELETE!
Horrible idea to cut off non subscribers. I grew up in Kitsap county and subscribed to the sun for nearly twenty years. I have moved away and always used the app to keep in touch with news from my home town. Now I use the many other options available to get that news instead of the sun because of their ridiculous idea to make it a subscriber only app. Sad.
Not happy about the subscriber requirements. Really $10/mo? What a disappointment, deleting now
Charging for news is unnecessary and archaic shouldn't be surprised like most things in Kitsap...way behind the times. App deleted!
I loved this app until it started asking for a subscription. I get the paper in the mail already. Ill be deleting this as I can't see full stories anyways.
I would like an online app for the Kitsap Sun to report like a paper not a search engine and!!! Terrible! There is not even a section in sections for classified ads! I search for pets and get a loose tiger in Puyallup
The app was very useful till this last change. This is now a lot more user friendly for your uneducated readers. (Look at the pretty pix)
Deleted app since I could not see the 911 section any more. It's worthless to me now.
How can the kitsap sun afford to continue to publish when real papers in seattle cannot? Your app is crap just like the quality of your high school drop out journalists. App auto refreshes every 3 seconds and scrolls to the top. No way to turn this off! Deleting app now...
AAll sudden can't view on iPad. If update for OS4 was not compatible for iPad both versions should have been offered. Very disappointed as I used this app several times per day.
