I use this app everyday to/from work. It saves me a lot of time!! Map loading works great on the last update. The destination time needs a bit of work as the arrival times are not always correct. Love it !!

  • Saves me daily

    by John MacLaren

Living in Los Angeles this app saves me daily when planning the crazy drive home

  • Highly recommended!

    by Sou'wester

I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. There's a lot of features here, so some "desk" time (away from the road) is required to get familiar with the app, and to tinker with the settings. But it's well worth the time to do so. I've used this extensively for about 6 months and it has saved me many hours of sitting in traffic with its alerts and detour recommendations. My regular commute has several options, and INRIX points me the right way much more often then not. Highly recommended!

  • 5.1.2 is up and running for me!

    by campyguy

EDIT: I had previously offered that I recommend holding off on 5.1.2, but the app is working fine now. The “home page” is a bit busy, and zooming almost all the way in is a bit of a PITA to see the traffic cams - I prefer the one-finger zoom that Google Maps and Mapquest offer now and any other means of navigating seems kludgy IMO. INRIX seems to offer the most accurate traffic data for what I need in the PNW. Revised my rating from 1 to 4 stars with the crashing resolved.

  • WTH

    by pyro279

So I downloaded the premium version on my old phone and when I transferred everything I lost all my addresses and it's telling me to "go premium" again. how can I get the premium version and all my addresses back? other them that it's a good app I use it quite a bit.

  • Ok

    by dg_tn

This app sounds promising! It's data is very complete and it's a powerful app but the user interface is lacking. Perhaps in future versions this will get better. For now I guess it's back to Waze!

    by Fresh769

Love this app its REALLY helpful with the disgusting New York City traffic the camera are not always on but helpful doesn't matter what people say I wish they had this back in the day so it's way better then walking out your house and guessing if there is traffic great app !!!

  • Best traffic app I've tried for DFW

    by Red harsh46

The only drawback is the drain on the battery. I upgraded to premium so I can put in more locations than work and home. I use it every day going and coming from work. 35 miles that can take between 45 min to 2 hours depending on traffic. This app helps me choose best route and where accidents are so I can go around. Very accurate on time of arrival. Now I use it for all locations I'm not familiar with. I add to places and then delete if not some place I go often. Definitely worth upgrading.

  • Great App!

    by gileigh

This app has saved me numerous times.

  • Awful

    by mekamnm

Awful. Inrix gets worse and worse after each update. The very first time I downloaded this app it work perfect. It never displays there is any traffic, even when I am sitting in it.

  • What's up?

by No name, likes to play

New version keeps crashing on I pod. Old one didn't.

  • Must not really be made for driving

    by KumariDances

I kept giving it a chance, and if possible it's gotten worse. It's not very easy to see or use at all while driving- there are too many options cluttering the screen when what you REALLY need to see - TRAFFIC - should be simple and clear. Add on top of that the color/traffic congestion indicators are almost- scratch that- ALWAYS wrong. That problem perhaps is just in my area, but I am done giving this app a chance. Moving on.

  • You know it's bad when...

    by Needles65

You know it's bad when: 1. MapQuest is better 2. The app won't find an address even when you put in the ZIP Code 3. The app won't find an address even when you put in latitude & longitude

  • Premium issues

    by demosduarte

I paid the premium price of $9.99 and yet it keeps on asking me to pay it again every time I want to add another place. Apple should look into this very carefully.

  • Previously a Great tool

    by Browninsb

The newest update, 12/17/13 has rendered this app useless. I had previously rated the app 4.5 stars but in its current state I cannot trust anything it displays. Will usually display completely incorrect traffic if it loads at all and often crashes. Until a usable update becomes available I will not use, even as a backup. See below for previous review of the app when it actually worked well. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As a professional Tour Bus driver I use this app daily to supplement my GPS traffic. I find it can be a little over kill sometimes by showing red in places that are running smoothly but I have never encountered traffic it had not displayed unless it was a fresh issue. Overall it is a tool I use daily and recommend to others. My only complaint would be it can occasionally load slowly.

  • It did work but not any more

    by K3282

It did work great but now I keep hitting bad backups that are miles long when the map just says green. I need a traffic app to navigate around my long commute. I guess I'm looking for a new one...

  • Horrible Mistake! Do not download! Useless. Unreliable.

    by Bogey06

We've been traveling for 8 hours so far and trying to support our trip using Inrix. The entire route has shown only green the entire way; however, we spent at least 4 hours in stop and go traffic on the PA Turnpike. The speed limit is 70mph, and when we weren't at a dead stop, we reached a max speed of 45mph. Our entire trip is usually 7-8 hours; we're currently at 8 hours and just past half way. Inrix had always been reliable and up to date in the past before the update. This trip every route in every direction shows 100% green no matter what the traffic conditions are like. It has been a good learning experience for us to never rely on Inrix again. We would have made smarter choices and saved hours if we had NOT used Inrix. We're at a dead stop on a highway looking for a new traffic app now.

  • Older version much better

    by Kalliope90

This used to be a fairly accurate app showing roads by yellow, red and green. Since the last update the app has been completely inaccurate showing almost all roads as green. I upgraded to the premium subscription in the hopes that maybe they were just offering those traffic color notices to those customers to no avail. Without accurate reporting this app is now completely useless. I was an avid user before and recommended it to others but have basically given up on it until this is fixed. iPhone maps traffic has been much more accurate.

  • Used to be a good app but now...

    by Very Aggravated!

Since the latest update this app is a major disappointment. Color indicators for traffic are useless. We have been in horrible holiday traffic the last few days in NY/NJ/PA but map always shows green (i.e., smooth sailing) throughout the entire region. We report updates, congestion, etc. but map colors never change. Prior version used to be spot-on but this app is now useless. Looking for a new traffic app as we sit in traffic now (which the Inrix app isn't even showing!!!).

  • The BEST

    by Odessa69

I loved this app, but now is not, what they used to be. I wish you will fix it. I check the traffic in advence and get stuck in it. This is not what i expect, what all your users expect. Fix app. Fix it. U r worst now on market

  • Terrible

    by Sully822001

Been stuck in bumper to bumper for the last two hours. I updated the app about a dozen times and it still showed green(all clear) as the traffic color. Switched to iPhone maps and it showed the traffic.

Since my update the app constantly crashes. I have deleted it and reinstalled it but does not work. Useless if not fixed. HELP!!!!

  • Better and better, then bad

    by Sillyvalley

New home page is annoyingly useless. The 5.1.1 update is slightly better, but still requires more clicks to get to the basic map page, which is the most useful screen. Additionally, it is useless to constantly update me if I'm not in the car. Until they put in a way to "Quit" app completely (like Waze and many other apps allows), I am not giving back all the stars. Speaking of Waze, its "social" update feature is certainly grabbing this user. Otherwise... INTRIX used to be my favourite traffic app. Better interface, neater "forecast" than Beat the Traffic (BTT), and smoother reporting feature. Like BTT, it keeps the screen up when auto lock is on, which is important for a navigation app. But 3.0 update made it really worthwhile. I tried INTRIX in version 2.5. For quite some time I relied on BTT despite firing up INTRIX occasionally for data comparison. All things equal, I want to use the most accurate app, namely BTT. INTRIX uses Google Maps but its traffic data tends to be different from Maps app (which is effectively Google Maps); INTRIX's traffic is closer to that from Bing maps. I also found that accident reporting is a lot easier than BTT's - have to wonder why BTT still got better data and more timely accident display. Several weeks before 3.0 update, I started to use INTRIX a lot more, because I accidentally discovered a neat feature that made the two _unequal_: INTRIX can display traffic on local roads but BTT cannot. (You'll have to zoom in deeply to reveal local traffic.) More recently, I started to notice that in multiple occasions, INTRIX's traffic info was more timely than BTT. If this keeps up, I may stay with INTRIX instead. 3.0 drastically changed several user interfaces, mostly for the better. 3.1 also allows low resolution graphs for speedier updates - a great improvement! (Most of iPhones are still on AT&T, right?) I like center-lock-unlock, "comparative traffic," and even better reporting. But these features now occupies disproportional amount of screen space and can get in the way of navigation. Those icons should be reduced in size, or compacted into a smaller strip unless a "button" is pressed. I don't understand AppsRadio touted for 3.1 - what (and where) is this? Yet another wish: Give a number for colour code. (I know most apps do not. But BTT does.) O, automatic unlock sometimes doesn't work, and the app tends to die near the Wi-Fi-mobile transition. So, let's see. Easier to use, cool features, useful on local roads, possibly even better traffic info. That's a win.

  • A mess again....

    by Mark Chernis

12-18-2013 Update: I wish I could figure out what these folks think they fixed. Still freezes. Still insists on forcing you to zoom in way too much to be useful. Still tries to re-center the screen at weird moments when you scroll with follow me mode disabled. Again, get in your car and try to use your software before sending it out to folks. Still, the best traffic data thought. And, I am encouraged to see they finally recognize they have a freezing problem. Update: This is so frustrating!!! Inrix has great traffic data but the user experience keeps taking one step forward and three steps back. Someone there needs to actually try using the map view while moving in a car!!!! It is impossible because of all the unnecessary zooming in and strange scrolling behavior. Not to mention all the freeze ups. I so want this app to work because the data is so great but I am almost at the end of my rope. Back to 2 stars. Update: just downloaded the newest version and increased rating from 2 to 4 stars because the developers listened to everyone's feedback and restored both landscape mode and the ability to default to the map screen on launch. I wish these folks would stop messing the with the core interface but they deserve praise for listening. Hope they fix for ios7 now. Oddly, the icons at the bottom of the screen float all over the place sometimes. Not a big deal but needs some polish on the new OS. Update: Each new version gets more and more clumsy. The map view is the key to the entire app and they make it harder to get to--again you can't default to map view on start--and more cumbersome. Somehow, the "other guys" have managed to remember the zoom level you want and have the map be responsive to user interaction when you first load. Conversely, the Inrix folks have decided for you that you want the map zoomed in all the way in and that it should be completely frozen for the first 15 seconds after starting up. I don't get it. Been a longtime user but this version is just off. If takes forever to load, the follow me mode shows an area that is way to small, and all the map zooming feels off. I am hoping they fix all this because I have used this daily app for years but this version is just not working smoothly.

  • Used to be good...now doesn't update

    by insanitylater

Either takes forever to pull up my locations or it never pulls then up. Used to be great.

  • Needs a mileage scale

    by lauira

Very useful but it would beneficial to have a mileage scale so you can better tell how many miles the backups are

  • One word: Waze

    by Denko12345

Update: lag from previous version drove me nuts, until I used Waze. A little better now, but I have converted to Waze. Good luck Inrix! Hope u go back to being a simple but effective app it used to be!

  • Bye old friend two bad upgrades I'm gone

    by Kimbrookekenzie

You were awesome the last two upgrades I have been patient time to go

  • Best App ever

    by Mom4x!

Inrix traffic has saved us so many times! Quite accurate! We scout ahead on our trips, and do our best to avoid traffic!

  • Frustrating at times

    by Gizzerella

If there is a wreck, I want to know about it, not to be told that I am to far away to confirm it. Yes I might be 15 miles away, but it is on my route and I would like to know about it before I get there. Plus, it is taking a lot of time to update the roads on start up, up to 3-5 minutes, which is useless.

  • Worthless

    by oldsagejoe

This app isn't working at all. It uses a Seattle address for my home address and cannot find any towns or cities where I live 700 miles from there. I'm using an iPad 3 with wifi only.

  • Get it Right!

    by Pinga10

Why does it take so long to fix something that's broke? I can never get traffic updates during rush hour in Boston when I need them the most. Server Errors every time I really need to use the App. What happened to the traffic alerts! Haven't seen them in months???? WTH!!

  • Ruined

    by jonvn

I used to find this app really easy to use and helpful, now the thing is almost impossible to use. They have wrecked the user interface. It’s frustrating to the point where I’m going to try waze and see if that is any better.

  • Totally wrong

    by SamLEliD

Both the lines and traffic cams were trying to tell me there was no traffic while I sat in gridlock under a traffic cam. Completely unreliable

  • Getting there...

    by thisnamehasbeentaken34

Overall, not a bad app. That being said, there needs to be a way to be able to report an incident (drop a pin on the map) that is not exactly where your GPS currently is. Often times when you come up on an accident (any incident) it's not the brightest move to immediately grab the phone to report it - so a lot of times the accuracy is degraded because it only lets you report an incident where your GPS is at that moment.

  • Down hill

    by Jnssr

Since the last update, it drains my battery even when plugged in. To many clicks to get to places

  • Poor design

    by WizWhelan

I've had this since day 1. Always used it. Felt it was 4 star. Not now. CN not even figure it out. What can they be thinking? It must be the Obamacare Syndrome .

  • It's getting better again.

    by Ravenlock80

The loading time is better in the latest version, my saved places populate and travel times load quickly. 4 stars for the traffic data, which truly is excellent. But not 5 because the map itself is still really unpleasant to use and directions still aren't turn by turn. Useless if you're somewhere you're not very familiar with.

  • Update broke my alerts

    by Mwcurly

Since the last update, I no longer get updates to notify me of travel times. I deleted and reloaded the app, checked that push notifications were enabled and all other associated settings, still no updates. This was one of the most beneficial functions for me.

  • Love this app

    by Gaffe gunk

    Helps me a lot.

  • Needs work but great app

    by Kmwjunk

I like this app & use it all the time. Setting up my work place & it chooses my route. No biggie but the routes make no sense. Custom route are not easy to create. Really need to fix this feature. I live in So California so this app is essential for navigating the freeway.
