About CFI Tools

I'm a Pilot and a CFI. I build these iPhone apps and other software for my own use.

Some other pilots saw them and said "Hey you should sell those".

So here they are for sale. I hope you enjoy them. Any suggestions for improvement or new apps are always welcomed. Have a good flight.

  • Great learning tool

As a CFI this is a great tool on the ground and in the air. I use this when teaching my students to visualize their holds.

  • just one itsy, bitsy problem ...

... my big, fat fingers have trouble with those teeny, weeny sliders. incorporate manual data entry, and I'll give it a "5" star rating.

  • Great Tool!!!

This is a great app. I am a CFI in helicopters and often times it is hard to get a new student to visualize entering a holding pattern before actually going out and doing them. Great idea showing both the cockpit view and the North up view and how they work together. You can't go wrong with this app.

  • Frustrating and Not Worth the Money!

    by Joe in FTL

This is the first time I am really disappointed in an iPhone application, especially an aviation one as I like all the others I have discovered. As someone else noted, it is extremely difficult to move the little buttons to select an A/C Hdg or Hold Crs. And I can almost never select the number exactly. I just give up and settle for a close number...not good in the world of aviation! This application should have a feature whereby you select the field, e.g. A/C Hdg, to get a keypad to enter the exact number. Secondly this application only shows holding courses inbound to the fix and not an outbound radial from the fix. You should be able to select this as well. Overall, a poorly designed application.
