** Your go-to pediatric resource with trusted drug formulary **

Harriet Lane Handbook, published by Mosby and powered by Unbound Medicine

The Harriet Lane Handbook is the authoritative pediatrics resource for interns, residents, and practitioners. The latest edition includes a fully updated drug formulary with dosing, side effects, interactions, precautions, and special considerations for treating infants, children, and adolescents.

Use the Harriet Lane Handbook on your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad to review disease information, check drugs in the formulary, or search figures, algorithms, tables, and charts. Quickly confirm diagnoses across a wide range of pediatric conditions and consult the most recent management recommendations, immunization schedules, procedures, and therapeutic guidelines specific to children. The outline format and supplemental icons, figures, charts, and color photographs make it easy to find the right information, right away.

Highlights of the latest edition include expanded coverage of pediatric psychiatry, gastroenterology, and genetics; new guidelines for immunization and hematology; and reorganization of infectious diseases. Dermatology now covers eczema complications and the poisonings section has been expanded with lead poisoning data and envenomation management.

Customer Reviews

  • Easy access

    by M. Badawi

Easy to look up all medications but otherwise hard to navigate. Developer needs to work on table present better.

  • Excellent app!!!

    by Peds Resident

Extremely useful app! Saves time! Love the search and favorites functions. Very pleased with my purchase!

  • ED doc review

    by Edmd1

Quick, easy to use reference while working a busy shift. I wish I had this when I was a Peds resident.

  • Lacking

    by Choffnut

I could not find i was looking for some of the time

  • Very good ap

    by MB, MD

Thanks for making this reference available on portable media. I use it at the bedside. Two suggestions, 1. After viewing a table then hitting the back arrow, it would helpful to end up where you left off in the main text. As it is, you are taken to the top of the chapter and have to scroll down to find where you left off. Take lot of time when in middle of patient care. 2. Would be nice to be able to zoom in on the text. Helpful as one gets older and one's lenses stiffen:-) Overall, very nice but not quite exceptional.

  • Great

    by medic350

Pretty much the definitive guide for pediatrics and much easier to search on iOS than using the book. Great to see it now updated for the iPhone 5 as well! Biggest complaints are that the search could use some work and the tables should be vector so you can zoom in and out on the iphone. As it is, tables are difficult to view on the phone, although fine on the iPad. How is voice control supposed to work though?

  • Great app!

    by john.audrey.thurman

Excellent resource! It covers the foundations of Neonatology and Pediatrics in the hospital.

Excellent resource. Very useful in the hospital and office!

  • Nice app.

    by francophile03

This app is very handy to have on my iPad in the clinic and on the wards. It needs a better search function and the tables and figures should be vector, not raster. Once that happens I'd be happy to give it a four star rating.

  • Great app!

    by Teletsiao

    Very handy. Love it!

  • I love it

    by Ecuadorian Galeno

    Is really good

  • Awesome

    by Dr.k8e

I used this book frequently but it was bulky and cumbersome to look things up at times. The app is awesome as it pulls up the links for related sections making it very easy and fast to use. Though not all inclusive it is by far the best resource I've found to use for pediatrics in residency!

  • Needs in-page search

    by Miiiko

Sometimes with the phone version, the tables are very big and takes time to find the disease/drug that you are looking for, and would benefit from an in-page search function, or with the current search function, it should directly jump to the part you looked up. Difficult to use on the phone.

  • This is a must have

    by Harriet Lane best app

I love this app, I am a pharmacist and use it all the time to check dosages. I have the book too and was so glad to be able to have all the info anytime now.

  • Great app!

    by The Heat1998

Love this app! I have it open on my desk on the iPad and on my phone in my pocket every shift I work. It's an invaluable tool for anyone working with pediatric populations.

  • As Advertised

    by Random Resident

Harriet Lane has been a standard for Peds Residents for years. This gives you the book without the three inch bulge in your pocket.

  • Awesome!!!!

Excellent source!! Much easier and portable tan a book!!

  • Easier than Skyscape Harriet Lane!

    by Fungo34

Much easier to use and update than the Skyscape version. Will download on ALL iOS devices instead of just one.

  • App still not working after following tech support

    by Arnelfo

Still not working even with excellent wifi. Revert back to the previous edition prior to 4th of December when I updated and this problem started.

  • Horrible search function

    by Mongoose324

It is impossible to find what you are looking for. I usually have to resort to guessing what chapter something is in and scrolling through hoping to find it. Would have been better just carrying the book.

  • Not loading on iPhone 5 iOS 6.1.2

    by Futilidae

App installs, but database will not load. Previously worked well. 4 stars when it loads. Table presentation needs improvement.

  • Great app

    by Khawashki

This app helps me big time, but needs a couple of things. First I would love if I can group my favorites together, and second I want to be able to search for a drug by its market name.. Hope u include these in your next update.. Keep up the goo work
