This has helped me so much for my weight loss, after not being able to lose my baby weight from my 2 boys...someone told me about this app so I decided to try it! Easier than weight watchers writing down every little thing, must easier to have them preloaded. This has most foods already in the system and has made me realize just how little calories certain fruits and vegetables that I love have! So I keep going back to those specific foods that I love and know I can enjoy without feeling guilty. If you stick to logging in everyday it works! I never knew how to keep track of what I ate. I can scan bar codes and see how much is coming in and going out in terms of calories
I started with a different app and switched to this one because it saves the foods I have put in into a listing to use quickly next time and because you can easily adjust portion size as well as exercise intensity. It is easy to use and I find it helps make me accountable! I've stuck with it for seven weeks now. It doesn't have lots of foods I find weird like plain cauliflower and a skinny Starbucks latte.
1. More meal options in a day...some of us eat 5-6 meals a day & have to combine 2-3 meals under the same header, "dinner" or "lunch". 2. The ability to adjust foods. Example: If I get a burger at a fast food place but I don't eat the bun. I'd like the option to adjust the carbs on that food. Other than that, it's fantastic! Love the new option of seeing each meals nutrients! Big help! Thanks!!
I love this app! It is easy to use and intuitive. I don't use it to lose weight, but I have a condition that forces me to ensure no meal has more than 30% carbs. The graph and weekly summary make it easy to follow. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars, is that it isn't easy to modify weight goals (for when I was losing weight) or to set nutritional alerts!
This program has been very helpful to me, as I eat each meal I know where I am in my calorie count. Also very helpful when eating out as I can tell right away how many calories in a dish.
This is a good tool to keep track of diet and exercise. The interface is intuitive. The only problem is that some foods are difficult to find. This is not commonplace though making the overall experience better than some other trackers.
I think LOSE-IT gives you all the tools you need to lose weight. It is very supportive and makes you aware of how many calories you burn, what you eat, everything.
I love tho app! The only things I would improve would be that you are able to select days on the weight graph to look back at where you were at on the sate selected and that you could put exercises in one minute intervals instead of five minute intervals. Everything else about the app is great!!!

Totally simple to use and understand it's great to use on both iPad and iPhone. Calorie counts for hundreds of foods are in the database, but you can add your own and include some recipes if you're a cook. You can also scan the bar codes do your ingredients to get the calorie count. Any exercise you can imagine is there too. The cardio machines at the gym corroborate the calories calculations. Some exercises are a little subjective. If I swim freestyle and wear myself out, am I doing vigorous or moderate exercise? I certainly could not enter a race at my speed. I set up a plan to lose a pound a week as my New Year's resolution. I'm right on track! I've earned a bunch of badges along the way. If you're a social animal there is "motivation" which is a way to connect and support other people working on weight loss. Lose It is everything an app should be. Do consider shelling out a little bit of money to get some prime features. If you are worried about high blood pressure or blood sugar you can track those nutrients, too. I plan to use the app to keep the weight off once I reach my goal so I hope it sticks around forever!

I am really enjoying this app. I started working out and eating healthy 3 weeks ago. This app is a great tool to keep me on track. It is fairly easy to learn to use.
I purchased the premium feature to connect with my jawbone app. What a waste, all it does is carry over my foods to my jawbone app. My jawbone steps don't transfer over at all. Very disappointed
You don't even get half of what they promise with the premium purchase. A complete waste of money. And a worthless customer service experience. Save you money and use Livestrong or My Fitness Pal.
Like others, I have been frustrated with some of the latest updates- lost my data once and had to reload from PC backup- also the latest version no longer allows me to select "goals" and the app freezes- I think I tried a goals option like display all data that had a bug- very frustrating- please fix app- 4 stars when working!!
I've lost 15.5 pounds so far & it's due to this app making me accountable! Unfortunately, I eat out routinely & wish there were more chain restaurants included. Hopefully that will come in an update; for now, it will take extra time to add those manually. It would be nice to have "Restaurant Food" as an individual choice, not sub-filed--there is room to list the 2 items individually so I don't see why they're hidden! I've already looked @ a restaurant menu to plan my lunch when I meet a friend tomorrow! To make that faster, listing calories next to the items would be great--it could help me choose items w/o having to click on each. Also, why can't I enter the info ahead of time? If I know I'll be going out for a special dinner & could preview the menu & save my meal plan, I would be able to watch calories earlier in the day & stay on track! Another nice addition would be a water tracker. So far, I'm pretty happy with this & look forward to using it to get healthier!

I've never wanted to do a calorie tracking diet because of the work involved. Lose It makes it simple, just an easy search or scan a bar code. On top of that it tracks exercise and weight. Very handy.
Great app! The barcode feature is the best and makes it so fast and easy to count calories. I've never been able to discipline myself enough to lose weight until this app. I would give it 10 stars if I could.
Love the bar code scanner. Love the My Meals so I can add a whole meal at a time. Only thing I don't love is that some of the measurements aren't intuitive. Who knows how many ounces of potato chips you're eating anyway?!
I never used to follow a diet plan. I always assumed I could just eat anything. After about 2 years of being unhealthy, unmotivated, and non-active I decided to make big changes. I really had no understanding of calories or estimating calories before trying lose it. This app is eye opening. It gives you a guide so that you goals become numerical and thus achievable. I am so impressed with how far I have been able to come in such a short period of time. I cannot even imagine going back to living a life before using this app. I am healthier, 8 pounds lighter, 2 pounds away from achieving my goal, and I feel incredible. I even paid for the in app purchase for the premium account. It is not necessary, but definitely well worth it.
I lost 20 pounds using this app in about three months! It is really easy to use and works great. It would be nice if I could see a history of the weight measurements that I took through the course of my use of the program in addition to the graph that is provided.

I've tried it. I've consistently stayed well below the caloric allowance indicated & have logged everything! Right down to the glasses of water I've drank. According to the guidelines, and regular exercise, which I do religiously, you would think that the app would adjust to match your goal? Well, after 6 weeks of using this app to monitor & guide me, I have lost a grand total of 1 lb & in just 6 short days from now, I will have reached my cut-off date for an additional 6 lbs! The app still shows that my allowance is about the same as it's always been. Unless it plans on starving me for the last few days? Sure seems like a gimmick to me! And, the calorie counter is off too, compared to what the labels indicate! Example, the app shows 130 calories/serving when the barcode is scanned but the label on the product clearly shows 170 cal/serving! What's up with that? I had better results managing my diet without the app! Just as the name of the app suggests, I'm going to Lose It! (The app!)

Thanks for removing the sync option with the Withings scale. I refuse to pay you $40/year to restore it. This app rocked before you got greedy. Now I don't use it anymore.

It's super easy to keep track of meals
This app is great! It's awesome to see how much calories you have per day so you don't eat more then you need. Problems with the app: - Let's say you ate three dates. The app asks you for how many cups, teaspoons, or tablespoons you had of it. I think the app should ask the number of dates you had so it's less confusing. -please add more exercises. - for exercises like sit ups I think the app should ask how many you did in an amount of time rather then just ask for the time. Calorie counting no more! This app features a built in bar code scanner, just scan the bar code of your favorite foods and Lose It takes care of the rest!
I love this app and here is why: It helps identify calorie dense foods/meals in restaurants; I track my exercise intensity and progress/caloric burn and use it as a record of past performance; I have attained 4 goals using LoseIt! and dropped 3 sizes. I want to see some additional health related features such as Medicine tracking tools, glucose levels, pulse, heart rate which would direct the app into another level of health awareness for its users.

Very user friendly & easy to keep track of your daily food intake. I started out just wanting to know how many calories I was normally eating. It opened my eyes to bad choices I was making. In 5 weeks I've lost 5 pounds, right on track!
I love this app...it keeps me on track and lets me know where I was wise and foolish. It's also wonderful to look back and change your diet if you get stuck!

Excellent app! I was surprised to actually lose weight when I first began. Tracking food is easy. Counting calories is easy. Calculating calories burned from exercise is easy. Staying on goal is easy. It has taught me that I was wasting lots of calories on foods and drinks that weren't worth it. You earn badges and can join challenges to keep you invested. I have stuck with it for a YEAR now and have lost 75 pounds!!

Love the barcode scan feature! For those of us trying to gain weight, I would love to see an option to add lbs per week. Any chance of seeing that soon?
Love this App. It holds you accountable for what you eat and how much you exercise with goals and encouragement. I use it at least three to fours times a day. It's good to check progress if you need motivation. I recommend it. I have gone 214 to 190 and it has been with me every step of the way. Be mindful if you pigging out and eat cheating the App will highlight your mistakes. Great App. Go for it.
Just started at the beginning of the year using this app. Have had success on tracking food for the day. Very helpful. Took off one star due to not being able to find odd items & certain menu items in restaurants.

It's a good app overall. I love how it keeps track of things. However, when I try to add friends in the motivate part, it doesn't work. We keep seeing "No Requests Pending". Also, I wish there were more preloaded foods from restaurants.

Lose It! was suggested by another member of our YMCA. He had list over 40 lbs since he had begun this quest. I had been trying to lose weight on my own without keeping track of what I was eating or the exercise that I was getting. I was not keeping track of my weight either. This app is so conscientious because it is on my phone and I keep my phone with me all the time so it is close and easy to record all of these things. I can even look up food BEFORE I eat and choose the healthier options before I consume it and prevent buyers regret. I recommend Lose It to anyone who seriously wants to lose weight.

It's really helping to stay on track with my meals, exercise and weight lost. I also love when it recommends something to me according to my day meal like: more vegetables if I was low for the day.
Started using this app over a year ago and achieved my health/fitness goal. I found it very easy to use, especially as I added more recipes of my own and built the library of "my foods". Would give five stars but missing lots of nutrition data from many of my favorite chain restaurants and those seem to not get updated. Love the ability to add custom foods and custom exercises. I do recommend this people who ask me how I lost all of my weight.
It's ridiculous the developers didn't find a way to convert pounds to kg. Come on, it shouldn't be that difficult. I'll look for another similar app.
I absolutely love this app! It has helped motivate me to Lose 25 pounds. I was at 145 and have dropped down to 120 and I don't think I could have done it with out being able to track my eating habits. So yes I really think you should try it out
I have never kept a food log before and I'm amazed at how my eating behavior has changed now that I know I need to enter every bite into my log. This app is fabulous. Without much exercise dedication, I have lost 1 pound a week just by being conscious of what I'm eating.
When I try and put in my weight (45kg) it says it is not a valid weight. I can't get past sign up
This is one of the best apps out there that I have used it and is beyond convenient. This app takes the thought process out of eating anything - you just scan it and it automatically deducts calories from your allotment for the day! I love it and I recommended highly that anyone looking for a weight loss tool give this one a try-you won't regret it!!!!
I have tried other similar programs but I like this one the best of all. It's user friendly and I like a lot of the recent changes. I especially love the newest, long time coming optimization for iPad! Occasionally the calorie info is slightly off but it seems to balance out alright.

This app makes losing weight easy. I eat out way too much, but having to log my calories, encourages me to make healthier choices. I've lost 8 lbs since January 1. One down side is that the graph does not restart when you restart a diet plan. I had used lose-it previously, and now the graph still shows that as my start point. Overall, a great app!

This is an amazing app that has been so useful to me, helping me to shed pounds over a long period. Keeps me focused on my diet throughout the day and helps me stick to it. Also encourages me to exercise. Uses a psychological principal called self monitoring that has been proven scientifically. Super large data set of all kinds of foods and allows me to add my own. I love the barcode scanner! I highly recommend this app to any dieter who is calorie counting.
I love this app and use it everyday, even better with my Fitbit. However, I suddenly can't find the foods I use? The search is bringing up so many odd choices, and none are what I'm looking for. Considering I use those choices several times a week, they should be some of the first in line. It seems this happened with the most recent Update. I prefer it the way it was. Please bring back the food list you had before. I understand adding new foods; but keep the format the same.
This is a great app. Food database has room for HUGE improvement and is the main lacking feature. Ability to customize the number of meals a day and name them would also be good.

The perfect tool/companion/tracker for losing weight and keeping it off! After years of not being able to lose weight, I (sensibly) lost 130 pounds by setting Lose It! to have me lose 1 1/2 lbs/week. It took 18 months, and I have now kept it off for two years by continuing to use LoseIt! every day. It made me so much more aware of what, when, and how I eat and exercise -- not just how much.
This app is actually very helpful for keeping track of everything. You just type in what you ate and a lot of times it has it. I've lost several pounds already and am heading towards my goal.

I've been a religious user for over a year now and I love this app. A huge improvement though would be the ability to go forward and meal plan for the next day. Much like another commenter I plan my meals the night before and would like to add it right away.
