Please add a way to highlight / underline / add notes etc ... I want to add my thoughts / life experiences etc so one day I can pass my personal process onto my children... When I leave this Earth they can still know their mom and find comfort ... I can also go back and remind myself or recall the lessons I need to live! Many thanks for all that you have done and are doing ... You have Greatly Impacted my life (one of your employees at Thomas Nelson sent me / gifted me a bible and the book Heaven is for Real after meeting me at a Captivating Retreat - put on be Ransom Heart Ministry ... To have a woman working for you with such love provided me trust and loyalty to your company - living the mission - May God Bless You) Thank You with all of my Heart. Kathryn
App works but please update so I don't lose my place every time I close the app.
Needs the full version but other wise pretty good.
Downloaded to my phone & some of the pages aren't mobile friendly. The actual bible pages are ok but I think it would be easier to use if you were using as a regular bible.
Also, make page transitioning easier and provide landscape view.
My favorite version of the NT. Looking forward to the release of the OT.
This version is wonderful! I would love to see an iPad version or maybe to see it in the iBooks store! Keep up the great work!
I have a hard copy of the voice new testament and was really excited to see this app...even more excited that it was free...a few notes tho: - the first page of John is missing - a bookmark function would be great - a continous flow of the text in one column would lend itself to the iPhone display much more than having to scroll around, just up and down - if text is reflowed as mentioned above please keep the bookmarks for chapters All in all, great translation...and a good free app...a few tweaks and it would be phenomenal!
This is a great translation of the Bible. it reads well and now it's right on my IPhone. Well done. In the next version add a landscape function.
I, too, own the physical copy and am loving this paraphrase even more than The Message now. I love this app allowing me to have scripture handy where ever I am. If you were to add in landscape mode & a bookmarking feature it would be 5 stars all the way. Oh and is it just me or is John 1 missing?
I GIVE THE TRANSLATION ITSELF FIVE STARS. IT'S EASY TO READ AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND. IT IS WRITTEN IN MODERN ENGLISH WITH MODERN GRAMMAR WITH AN UNMISTAKABLE SENSE OF PASSION. THE FOUR STAR RATING IS SIMPLY FOR THE LIMITS OF THE APPLICATION ITSELF. ADD LANDSCAPE VIEW, BOOKMARKING, SEARCH OPTION, NOTES SECTION, OPTION TO SAVE PLACE UPON CLOSING APP, ABILITY TO STAY ZOOMED IN TO THE COLUMNS BETWEEN PAGE CHANGES, AND MAYBE A RANDOM SCRIPTURE BUTTON AND I WILL CONSIDER CHANGING MY RATING TO FIVE STARS. I OWN A PHYSICAL COPY OF THE VOICE AND I COULDN'T BELIEVE THIS APP IS FREE. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE WHO DOESN'T READ BECAUSE THEY FEEL OTHER VERSIONS ARE DRY IN TRANSLATION OR HARD TO UNDERSTAND. I CAN HARDLY WAIT UNTIL FEBUARY WHEN THEY RELEASE THE NEW TESTAMENT INCLUDING PSALMS AND PROVERBS. STOP READING THIS AND GET IT ALREADY!
This is a great version of the Bible that is easy to read, and being a musician myself, it's great knowing that some great musicians had a chance to help with it. And the best part, is that it's free! and easy to use in church.
1. You lose your place every time you exit the app. 2. There are page missing, i.e. John Chapter 2 goes from page 159 to 161. 3. Pages look more like they been scanned, so in order to read anything you have to zoom tap and scroll up/down and across on some pages that have double column.
The content wise is superb. But the app is not up to standard quality. Here's why: 1. The app doesn't remember the last page you read. So when getting out of the app and then going back in, it defaults back to home page and you have to start all over again to find your last read page. Sorry, no bookmark available on this app either. 2. The types are small (two columns text book). You always have to zoom in to make it legible. The screen shot shown in iTunes is deceiving because it's a zoomed screen shot. So whenever you turn the page, it's back to its default two-columns small font face again and you constantly have to zoom in on every page. Solutions: Get the iBook version and It's much better because 1. It stays where you left off last time. 2. You can bookmark multiple pages! 3. Type font face is large and font size is adjustable. 4. You can highlight verses plus more.... One stars for sloppy job on creating this app! This app is not ready for prime time.
I'm sure the people who created this app were well intended. I'm sure the translation is also very good. However, the app doesn't show the translation to any advantage. First, each page looks like a single pdf page. There's a lot of wasted space on each page too. Blank grey margins on 3 sides. For a mobile device app to waste reading space is practically sinful. The pages don't flow easily from one to the next. You can't swipe to turn the page. You have to press a button on the page top. Worst of all, too many pages are double columned. VERY difficult to read, even on the iPhone 4. I'm reading this app on my iPad and the clunky columns are still cumbersome, requiring constant manipulation to move from paragraph to paragraph. A book needs to read like the iBook epub files do. Anything else is rather lazy programming. There's a lot of self-promoting pages encouraging you to buy the book. That's fine, but not what I expected when I downloaded the app. Fortunately I just found a used copy of The Voice in hardback form. I'll enjoy that, and probably delete this version from my devices. Too bad, but no amount of thoughtful writing will save a book app that one can't read.
