Description

An "Evernote" Supported Business Card Management Application

The "Business Card Manager" is an application which helps you to store and manage all your business cards on iPhone, just by taking photos of the business cards with your iPhone pre-installed camera.

By using the "Auto-Synchronize" feature to sync with "Evernote", the application allows you to add and search out business cards without having to type in any letters.
Want to exchange business cards with a client who also has "Business Card Manager"? By making the motion to exchange cards (by holding out your iPhones to each other) you can exchange your business cards with your partner, digitally through Bluetooth.

[ 4 Main Features ]

1. Add new cards - Simply by taking photos on your iPhone Camera
In this application, adding a new business card into your business card list is as easy as taking a picture of the business card on your iPhone camera. Not only can you add new cards one card at a time, you can also take pictures of all your cards at once, save the data temporarily and sort all the cards later to save the hassle of having to enter each business card one card at a time.

2. A Seamless Search Function interlinked with "Evernote"
[Auto-Synchronize with "Evernote"]
People who have an "Evernote" account can use the "Auto-Sync" feature to automatically synchronize the data in their business card list with a specified "Evernote" notebook. Once synchronized, the OCR (Optical Character Recognition) feature in "Evernote" will scan and recognize the characters in the business card as text data.

Running a search for a name or a number will search in the card list inside the application and also inside the "Evernote" notebook - allowing you to search out business cards seamlessly.

[Load Business Card data from "Evernote"]
This feature allows you to download business card data from your "Evernote" notebook onto your "Business Card Manager". For example, by using this function, you can scan and upload all your business card data to your "Evernote" account through your PC, and later on, load all the un-synchronized data onto your "Business Card Manager"

3. Use "Tags" to Manage Groups Easily
Although the pre-installed "Contacts" in iPhone is somewhat difficult to use, since it lacks a feature to create groups, the "Business Card Manager" comes with a feature to "tag" your business cards with a group name, and manage them based on these tags. Also, by using the "thumbnail display mode", you can select multiple cards and tag them to certain groups at once.

4. Exchange business cards from iPhone to iPhone
By holding out your iPhone to another iPhone user with "Business Card Manager", you can exchange your business card set inside the "My Business Card" with your partner. The transmission for the card exchange is done through Bluetooth so even in the offline mode, you can exchange business cards safely and swiftly.
The card exchanged through this feature is entered automatically into your list of cards, along with the GPS data of where the exchange was carried out.

[ Basic Features ]

- A zoomable thumbnail view
- Register multiple photos for a single entry
- Twitter, Facebook supported
- Call up your contacts while viewing the business card
- Export contact info to the iPhone default "Contacts"
- No Internet connection required for viewing or exchanging cards

[ About upgrading from the Lite Version ]

If you are already using the Lite version, please use the "Upgrade Purchase" from your application to upgrade to the FULL version.
Please note that if you do not use this upgrade function, but rather purchase a new FULL version, the business card data
that you saved in the Lite version will not be carried on to the FULL version.

* If you use the iPhone3G, it is recommended that you use a scanner from a PC and save the image to "Evernote" instead. (Because it does not have an auto-focus function.)

Customer Reviews

  • Not worth it

    by BruceGoose03

You still have to manually input the contact details. It doesn't import it using OCR

  • Horrible app

    by lucidparody

Poor management and no OCR. Worthless.

  • Misleading association with Evernote

    by yoav freund

I really like evernote and was hoping that this app will help me enter information from business-cards. It does nothing of the sort. Just takes a picture of the card and then asks you to enter the information yourself. I blame myself for not reading the reviewers before forking over 3 dollars.

  • Not worth the money

    by vanholmc

I falsely believed it actually scanned the card to extract the fields of information, when in fact is does nothing more than take a picture so I can type in the contents.

  • Seriously

    by Seriously-unhappy

It's 2011 and no OCR for auto population? I can use iPhoto and take a pic of a BC and put it into Evernote manually. This app is lame stay away and save your cash.

  • Waste of good money

    by 5514

Long on promise and short on delivery! Nothing more than a photo storage program that will link up with Contacts. User still has to manually enter data from business cards or you can import contact data into the business card program. Not a time saving piece of software. Served it's purpose when it sold. Even if free it would still be worthless. Don't waste your $3.

  • Next to useless

    by ellem52

While it uploads pictures of your cards to Evernote that's all it does. If you use Evernote you already know how to do this without this program. It doesn't have any OCR capabilities, and because it puts the Cards into Evernote sideways you end up with pictures of your business cards that can't be read by Evernote. If you'd like to take each card out and spin it and then put it back into Evernote THEN they can be read. If I need to enter everything into the program manually why do I need this? I would have never bought this without Evernote's recommendation. Evernote will not fool me again.

  • Evernote Buyer Beware!! Does NOT synch existing cards from evernote

    by 2redbulls

According to the publisher website it states this app with "Synch" contact with your selected evernote folder. There is a translation problem here because synch infers a TWO way communication between your iphone app and evernote. In this case, the app ONLY UPLOADS to your designated folder in evernote. It doesn't download any of your existing cards. The other thing to take notice of is that there only a help manual / online FAQ. There is NO email tech support!!! Come on guys... why go through all the trouble to put together an potentially killer app then sell yourselves short??? Please fix this app to import cards already in EVERNOTE.

  • Not what I expected

    by B Certain

As a Premium account user of Evernote I was expecting to have the pictures that I took be converted into Contact cards that filled in all the contact information for me. I see no value in this application. I could take a picture and send it to Evernote for free and avoid the $2.99 for this application
